So I just wanna recap...Is the idea of a quote of the day/week going to implamented on the home page here at Hypography, or not?

And was another post moved/combined with this one?

___Yes, they combined one I started; I lost this one by unsubscibing to it. Ooops. I also think 'they', those grand wizards of Hypography, hinted that the home page may just appear one day with a quote bar or some such.
___In the mean time, we can throw a few around in here. I think it will work best if we post quotes we personally like one at a time, inasmuch as there are so many quote data bases.

But maybe some feedback would be nice - exactly WHERE should we put the quotes? On the home page? On the forum index? In the right column?

My orignal thought was on the home page...
Where exactly on the home page?
Well thats up to your crew, but why not up at the top where everyone can see it...and if it seems to work...maybe you could click on it (the weekly quote) and make a comment or 2...

I think it should be on the right column. That way, even those that don't visit the home page on a regular basis (like ME!) can still see the quotes. And if it was in the same format as the 'news articles' you can add comments if you like... Maybe have it be in the right column that links to it's own sub-forum, so all the quotes aren't lost, and people can go back through and see them? Just thinking out loud here...

The way it works is this: Each new thread in a new "quotes" forum will constitute a quote. We can then reply to the quotes, and also rate them (nice for competitions!).

However, we should probably have a quotes moderator because ANY first post in a thread in that forum can be shown as a quote...

I think we should also devide the forum into cited quotes and original quotes.

Theists think all gods but theirs are false. Atheists simply don't make an exception for the last one.

Hypography?

Hypography [n.]: A combination of "hyperlink" and "bibliography" - ie, a list of links to electronic documents. Comparable to discography and bibliography, but not cartography.

When we launched in May 2000, we wanted to create a site to share science-related content of all kinds on the web. As time passed, our site turned into a pure science forum with lots of cool people.

So we kept the name Hypography and the cool science forum community - and aim to be a friendly place for discussion of science topics of all kinds.
