Moontanman Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 Computers seem to be getting ever more powerful and movies are getting ever more CGI so... How long before a man sitting at a computer at home can make an "Avatar" quality movie but with no actors, totally CGI? How long before a man will be able to plug into a computer program and experience a movie directly as a part of the action rather than watch it with his eyes? Which one will happen first? Quote
Tormod Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 Good question! An interesting angle is whether we need "virtual reality" or whether the way to go is to actually augment reality. http://techcrunch.com/2010/01/06/augmented-reality-vs-virtual-reality/ nerdasaurus 1 Quote

Know of any sites worth looking at to expand my knowledge of augmentation of known reality? Quote

For integrating into a virtual world in the same way, our understanding of how information is processed in the brain most become muuuuch bigger... Quote
