Those interested in automatic translators will probably find this article useful:

It is about how Google Translate works, and why it usually outperforms other automatic translators. To verify this claim, I translated a piece from English to Russian. The result was not perfect but it was very good. Here is what to do:

1) Go to http://translate.google.com
2) Specify languages, for example, English --> Russian
3) Paste (or type) the text to be translated.
4) Click on the “translate” button

The translated text will appear at once. You can just read it or cut-and-paste it into another document.

Google Translate's coverage has been expanded dramatically. It now supports the translation between any of the following languages: English, Arabic, Bulgarian, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish (the new languages are shown in bold). From 26 language pairs, Google Translate now supports 506 language pairs and becomes the most comprehensive online translation tool available for free.

This was with google translator

This is how Google Translate works, and why it usually outperforms other machine translators. To verify this, I translated a piece from English to Russian. The result was not perfect, but it was very good. Here's what to do:

1) Go to http://translate.google.com
2) Specify languages, eg English -> Russian
3) Paste (or type) the text for translation.
4) Click the "translate"

The translated text appears at a time. You can simply read or copy and paste into another document.

!!!!!! it was was not a good passage of text for a test, because it is a list of countries.
At first I thought it had cheated or I had pasted the original text back!!

Note how 'online' has moved position, this is becasue german has strick order rules, ie Time - manner - place. So it moved the place (online) to the end.

Pretty smart I used to use babelfish but I am switching to google now!!!

Mary had a little lamb, whose fleece was white as snow.
And everywhere that Mary went, the lamb was sure to go.
It followed her to school one day which was against the rules.
It made the children laugh and play, to see a lamb at school.

And so the teacher turned it out, but still it lingered near,
And waited patiently about, till Mary did appear.
Why does the lamb love Mary so the eager children cry.
Why, Mary loves the lamb, you know the teacher did reply.

Hypography?

Hypography [n.]: A combination of "hyperlink" and "bibliography" - ie, a list of links to electronic documents. Comparable to discography and bibliography, but not cartography.

When we launched in May 2000, we wanted to create a site to share science-related content of all kinds on the web. As time passed, our site turned into a pure science forum with lots of cool people.

So we kept the name Hypography and the cool science forum community - and aim to be a friendly place for discussion of science topics of all kinds.
