you are giving God form here and light has no form- i think you are missing the point

The form of light is a wave, Ive heard... No scientist claims light to be a formless thing :)
Also: It was not me saying God has an inside without darkness!
I dont think its that Im missing the point... I suspect there is no point to miss, words used religiously lacks meaning and truth in many cases.

PS Some theologicians and prophets claim that there is no proper description of God, that all we can reach is approximations but that doesnt mean we should be satisfied with ridiculous approximations.

Sigurd, you are intentionally disrupting this thread. You are making points outside the purpose of the OP and you are also making provocatory remarks. This is not welcome. :naughty:

Now I am truly confused.

I believe that any discussion of what Christianity is; What Christians do, or do not believe; or the Logical Implications of Christian belief, must all refer back to the Bible.

The Lao Tse, The Chang Tzu, The I Ching and The Bhagavad Gita may all be fine books, yet they have very little or no relevance to discussions of Christian Theology.

SomeTimes you may want to examine these book's Theology, or to compare two or more Religions.....

But I am puzzled by the stricture against discussing Bible Verses.....

I think you will have come up with a non-alcoholic Gin.

you don't have to understand the rules; you just have to follow them. if you want booze, go to a bar. render unto Tormod what is Tormod's.

It's only right that we should "render to Tormod what is Tormods". John 3:16 is however, a Bible verse and in order to understand one we need to look at it in light of 'other' verses (now granted that often goes off on weird tangents and possibly the reason why you are loathe to allow it).

If you were to allow it however, I think you would be pleasantly surprised to discover what it really says (notwithstanding the supernatural inferrences).

back to the OP...we would assume that if God loved the world, the world itself would show some evidence for that...but wars, suffering, disease is the exact opposite!

Turtle has a fair point- this thread is about bible verses and not really the tebow thing. I will close this thread and if an administrator deems it fit to reopen, we shall go from there

Hypography?

Hypography [n.]: A combination of "hyperlink" and "bibliography" - ie, a list of links to electronic documents. Comparable to discography and bibliography, but not cartography.

When we launched in May 2000, we wanted to create a site to share science-related content of all kinds on the web. As time passed, our site turned into a pure science forum with lots of cool people.

So we kept the name Hypography and the cool science forum community - and aim to be a friendly place for discussion of science topics of all kinds.
