Why this trend is so common. Girls usually have no interest on the men who are shorter than they are or around their height?
Tom Cruise is not tall, and I want to know do all American women love him to be lover?

Do you think height does matter in love?
By the way, how tall is Tom Cruise?

i love your posts ps2huang. although i really think you shouldn't worry about it so much.
no, height does not matter in love.
or maybe it does to an extent.
you know, midget vs. giant.

tom cruise may not be tall, but the movies make him look so. i never really thought whether or not he was short. all the women want him because he's a rich, famous, sexy, movie star. simple as that. he might be a nice guy too.
if proportion is correct, tall guys usually have more to offer. that might be another reason. if you just be yourself, you have nothing to worry about.

I mean why can't girls try to notice the potential coolness of every men instead of noticing tall men?

yes master!
well the truth is, i have no idea.
my psychology is based on observation and i havn't had much time to observe the college campuses.
but the problem here is that girls don't appreciate guys for who they really are.
you're lumping all the girls a catagory, a stereotype.
don't do that, you just need to find the right girl(s). and trust me, they're out there.

Well one also remember we are animals that evolved using natural selection. On the savannah being cool did not keep the snakes away or allow you to hunt better. A relatively bulkier individual is more physically fit and better able to provide in a naturalistic situation. Now this obsolite in todays world, but the hardwiring still exists to a degree. Most notions of beauty are related to viability.

Maybe you'd believe a girl if you listened to one? Let me give you some advice from a former Rose Princess runner-up: Girls don't give a dang about height, length or width. You don't actually have to be very cute even. Sure maybe it *helps*. But one thing we a lot of us find out at a fairly young age: all of those superficial things are trumped by the fact that if a guy is a self-absorbed, know-it-all, prejudiced, sexist jerk, who spends all his time staring at your breasts (or worse stares at every other set of breasts that walk by on a date) and trying to figure out how to get you to sleep with him are not worth giving the time of day to.

I'd recommend you look at some of these other issues before worrying about how tall you are.

Cheers,
Buffy

...And when are you going to post a picture in your profile then?

Most notions of beauty for men are, but the uber-skinny women now-a-days are a little non-viable. Childbearing women would naturally be a little plumper and bigger hipped then is usually considered model material.

Jeez, sorry guys that's not gonna happen... You want pictures, go to a porn site... And you ought to to change that 30 year old picture you currently have up: it just reinforces all of my preconceived notions... ;)

Cheers!

Actually, it is 9 years old. It is the only picture I have of me. But I figured that dinner jackets look like lab coats, so it kind of fit.

So...afraid to post your pic????

Its we women who are skinny obsessed. Guys don't really like *fat* girls, but we all *know* they get less choosy the closer it gets to last call. Most guys don't seem to notice the difference between a size 2 and a size 10, and quite frankly the fat is invisible if the cup size is large enough. On the other hand, what guys really don't appreciate is the amount of time we spend comparing ourselves to other women, and in today's fashion concious world, optimizing looks is a huge pressure, and no matter how good your self-image (which is the *real* issue with us), you still look fat in the mirror. Its hard *not* to be bulimic/anorexic these days.

Bottom line though is most guys are totally clueless, and if sex is involved, they're just happy if you don't look like Eleanor Roosevelt. Being on the Rubenesque side matters only to us girls...and unfortunately most of us realize that.

Cheers,
Buffy

I do not believe this in the slightest. Some notions of beauty could be readily applied to viability. Many are a real stretch.

Besides, speaking as a guy, guys like lots of different kinds of women (shapes, intellect, softness, ambition, etc.) and it is hard to argue that opposite traits are all related to viability.

Hypography?

Hypography [n.]: A combination of "hyperlink" and "bibliography" - ie, a list of links to electronic documents. Comparable to discography and bibliography, but not cartography.

When we launched in May 2000, we wanted to create a site to share science-related content of all kinds on the web. As time passed, our site turned into a pure science forum with lots of cool people.

So we kept the name Hypography and the cool science forum community - and aim to be a friendly place for discussion of science topics of all kinds.
