JMJones0424  Just finished baking an apple pie, not quite from scratch. I skipped about 13.7 billion years worth of prep work.

JMJones0424  Looks like a Harvard study lends credence to what we were taught in BRC, we see movement, then shape, then color. http://visionlab.harvard.edu/silencing/

not sure if you saw my reply to your photo comment. i don't think it generates a notice. here it is again just in case. [quote name='turple']i should have labled them as gourds. the pattern was inherited. i bought a packet of mixed seed, and after a couple years relaized each plant grew one type/style of gourd. the colors disappear when they have dried.

sorry 4 delay; technical difficulties. the avatar is my work, it's 4 rotated & re-colored copies of a colored pencil portrait of a friend i've never met. here's the original with enhanced saturation: http://scienceforums.com/index.php?app=gallery&module=images&img=2927

Eclogite- The fact that a successful individual can find inspiration and interest in any book is more a reflection of the strengths of that individual than of the strenghts of the book.

:hyper: interesting article; i did not know about the star's natural mutations. :smart: i do know that if you don't want to wait for nature to crack that seed hull, knicking through it with some sharp tool has it sprouting in a matter of days. i'm growing some lupines from seed i collected @ green mountain so i can identify the species. :kuku: :D they over-wintered outside & our now springing up new growth, & with a little luck will bloom this year. :cap:

Glad to entertain. DD's brilliant in a very unconventional way. Reminds of Betrand Russell. I can see how his perspective confuses people because the "content" of his discourse has to do with physics, but the discourse itself has to do with the logical and philosophical underpinnings. Literally speaking, DD's discussing the metaphysics of physics on far more stable and concrete ground than Aristotle or Kant. I enjoy meta-systems, so I recognize them when I see them. Wish I was more logically and mathematically sophisticate because I know I could help if it wasn't for the metalanguage barrier.

Hypography?

Hypography [n.]: A combination of "hyperlink" and "bibliography" - ie, a list of links to electronic documents. Comparable to discography and bibliography, but not cartography.

When we launched in May 2000, we wanted to create a site to share science-related content of all kinds on the web. As time passed, our site turned into a pure science forum with lots of cool people.

So we kept the name Hypography and the cool science forum community - and aim to be a friendly place for discussion of science topics of all kinds.
