Topics I've Started

  1. Help Us Test The Creativity Forums

    06 March 2012 - 01:44 PM

    Hey dear Hypography members!

After having run these forums since 2002, I wanted to do something new. Therefore CraigD has taken over the administration of the Science Forums.

I have set up a new project called the Creativity Forums over at http://creativityforums.com.

You should be able to log into that website with the username and password which you use here at the Science Forums. (If not, please let me know!) Note that even though our two sites are in the same family, your profile will not transfer because of the different purposes of the forums. So feel free to set up an entirely new profile "over there".

Can I ask you to please head over there and log in, click around, try things and see if everything works?

And if you like the new forums, please consider helping us grow by posting ideas, art, websites and other inspiring content.
  2. So...who Got A Ps Vita?

    03 March 2012 - 03:23 AM

OK, I admit it...I bought my first handheld gaming device when I got the Playstation Vita two weeks ago. And I'm pretty impressed by it. Anyone else get it? What games did you get?

I am currently playing Uncharted: Golden Abyss. It's incredible how they manage to retain the "feel" of the game when moving from the big-screen PS3 to the PS Vita's 5" screen.
  3. New Version Of The Hypography Gallery

    27 March 2011 - 02:32 PM

I have just upgraded our gallery to a new version. It is much nicer now, with an improved user interface and it seems to be much easier to get a feel for the rich variety of photos available!

Check it out at http://scienceforums.com/gallery/ - and feel free to start your own gallery here at Hypography Science Forums. :)

Use the BBCode to add an image to a post like this:

You can also choose to use the image url if you need to show a large photo in your post - remember to wrap it in the IMG tag (or click on the image icon in the post editor):

Use the "Share image" link to see the sharing options and then copy the data you need (click for larger version):

  4. Testing A Photo Attachment

    27 March 2011 - 02:24 PM

Really neat: when you post an image from our forums using the BBcode data, you get this:

  5. Photography Thread

    21 March 2011 - 11:52 PM

Starting this thread so we can share cool photos. Please feel free to use our gallery to upload pictures, and then copy the BBCODE and paste it in a reply. Tell us the story of what's going on. :)

    Here goes:

This is my daughter (7 1/2) throwing a perfect shot on goal in handball. She plays with 8-year-olds in this cup because there are too few girls at the higher age group. She's played for a year now, and she's loving it. Handball is a huge sport in Norway, particularly for girls.

Hypography?

Hypography [n.]: A combination of "hyperlink" and "bibliography" - ie, a list of links to electronic documents. Comparable to discography and bibliography, but not cartography.

When we launched in May 2000, we wanted to create a site to share science-related content of all kinds on the web. As time passed, our site turned into a pure science forum with lots of cool people.

So we kept the name Hypography and the cool science forum community - and aim to be a friendly place for discussion of science topics of all kinds.
