Topics I've Started

  1. Gmail Tap

    01 April 2012 - 11:05 AM

It's the next big future in communication! This month starts straight away, on its very first day, with this great novelty for mobile! I just can't wait to try it out!
  2. The Folly Of Commodities

    27 March 2012 - 12:48 PM

This one struck me as hilarious:

    http://www.reuters.c...deoId=232334803

but of course it isn't funny that everybody is paying so much more for copper because of it. And we were all thinking goodness, what they must be doing with it all! When will those warehouses burst open and flood the market?

The ones that got a safe game are those who salvage it (or swipe it from all those foreclosed homes in the U. S.) and sell it to the Chinese.
  3. But, Larry...

    29 January 2012 - 05:22 AM

Starting with March 1st this year, Google will have a flaming new Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

    Hurrrrrraaaaaaaaaaay!!!!

But how cool is it that Our Lord will be watching over us if we choose to log in with a Google account? This goes for things like Gmail, Google Talk and YouTube, so if you use such things you might want to know to which extent Google Almighty can see your hardware and sofware details, on your side of the connection.

Does Google Almighty see the user's local file system via Chrome? Will they make their browser necessary? Their new TOS sez stuff like:

For example, don’t interfere with our Services or try to access them using a method other than the interface and the instructions that we provide.

It is yet unclear if Chrome will be included in the meaning of this. Are these anti-cloud freaks right? Oddly enough, it has become harder for me to find their sites and mostly marketing hype for cloud computing turns up, at least using Google for the search...

Anyone more informed here? Whaddya think?
  4. The SSC Is Up For Sale!

    04 January 2012 - 04:36 AM

    No, it isn't a joke.

C'mon folks, whatcha waitin' for? Ya won't balk at a measly US$ six and a half million, will ya?

  5. Zeolites For Health... Scam Or Good?

    19 December 2011 - 03:19 AM

A friend of mine was asking about them. I did a bit of google and there seem to be many folks selling it as a health product, but also suspicions about scam. The section on wiki for its medical uses doesn't make it look certain that it should be used as a nutritional supplement.

Is anyone here able to point to any other reliable and accurate (non commercial!) sources? Mostly, does anyone know of evidence that it could be unwise to ingest such products?

    Thanks in advance.

Can you try to just edit and republish your signature? I'm trying to enable smilies in sigs and for some reason it seems it's a manual process to get them to parse.

Qfwfq, Pesonally, I am in agreement with your post #784-5 of "What is Spacetime" thread in History of Philosophy of Science Forum and the intent to close this thread. If a "new" thread spawns from this on "unfinished business". So be it. maddog

Hypography?

Hypography [n.]: A combination of "hyperlink" and "bibliography" - ie, a list of links to electronic documents. Comparable to discography and bibliography, but not cartography.

When we launched in May 2000, we wanted to create a site to share science-related content of all kinds on the web. As time passed, our site turned into a pure science forum with lots of cool people.

So we kept the name Hypography and the cool science forum community - and aim to be a friendly place for discussion of science topics of all kinds.
