  1. Hey there~ I'm a student studying Early Childhood Teaching. I'm doing an informal survey with children and am having a bit of trouble getting enough children to answer (parents tend to be protective). If you know a child age 3-7, would you minds helping me to ask them 3 simple questions? Thanks! (: Q1: What do you think good behaviour is? (What do good girls/boys do?) Q2: What does your mummy/daddy do when you behave well? Q3: How do you feel when mummy/daddy ______ (insert Q2's answer)? Thank you! (:
  2. The question of 'why and how do conjoined twins have different personalities' popped up in my mind while I was studying a mostly unrelated topic. They have the same nature (genetically speaking they have 100% same DNA) and almost same nurture (what one experiences the other most likely will as well e.g. medicine) Then a hypothetical experiment came to my mind following the question. If you plant two genetically identical seeds of a tree into the absolutely same environment (same soil, same water, same light, same everything), when the tree grows from the seed do the branches branch out absolutely the same way? Can anyone tell me the answer to these two questions (a theory would be nice too)? Thanks in advance!
  3. Then it's great that I don't use Facebook or MySpace, no? 1984 is a great book, though should the future be indeed like what is in the book, that would be scary indeed...
  4. Isn't that a form of courtesy ingrained in us since youth? To announce our presence to others I mean.
  5. Intelligence and common sense, perhaps, may have never existed.
  6. *bows* I live to serve. :(
  7. Who doesn't want to use words that will stun people into silence? (I'm not that good in spelling either. Embarrassing, that is.)
  8. I'm having fun already, reading all those threads. It's still a little bit scary, but everything is just so interesting.
  9. It is kind of scary here, isn't it? So scary that now I don't even know how I should introduce myself without sounding foolish. :( I might make some smelling mistakes... Or maybe amateurish grammar errors... In any case, Hola~ to everybody here! As I haven't consumed my two cups of coffee in the morning, I might sound a little.. distracted or disoriented as I try to introduce myself. So please, bear with me. I found Hypography while I was doing a little bit of research on Global Warming. Truth be told, I thought that project was going to be a highly boring one. I mean, I was pretty much into the idea that humans caused Global Warming, but is just basically too stuck up to admit it, or do much about it. After reading some of the arguments here, however, it really made me think and reconsider my opinion. Which is why, in my near comatose state, I registered. Biology and history are two subjects that I'm interested in.:D I'm so-so at biology, but history is... another matter totally. Even though I like that subject, I just can't seem to write an essay that satisfy my teacher. If it's possible, I'll like to learn about everything in the world.. But yes. I do know that it's not possible. Still, I live by the motto: knowledge is power. So... :) If my user-name is too long, just call me 'Sha'.
