  1. I thought about that, humans create machine that help them detect polarized light, and such. Also it did exist before we built something to sense it. Maybe I have the carrige before the horse??
  2. I would define something exists if we can sense it. Would that place memory as our 6th sense? Memory thus proving the passage of time. For a more scientific proof, we need "time" in order to have two objects occupy the same space. The fact that I can move one object, and replace it with another, proves there must be a fourth dimension. Otherwise all our usefull space would get filled up real quick.
  3. Excellent Post!!
  4. On carpet use large wheels. I would not recommend using old CD's, unless it's really light. Wrap the elastic around a spool thats attached to the axle. The trick is to try different size spools. If the spool is too big, the car will not go far enough. If the spool is too small it will not have enough power to move.
  5. I have also heard electrons described as waves. It was used to explain why electrons are found in thier different orbits or shells, and not in-between. The smallest quanta of energy of an electron locates the electron in its lowest shell. Remove the last quanta and the electron goes with it. I would conject that the only reason electrons are considered particles is because of the trails in a vapor chamber or the point of light emitted by a photo plate.
  6. Question? If I have a rigid shaft that's one light year long, and I can move it by pushing it, what will keep me from signaling some one on the other end, faster than the speed of light. Ignoring momentum and how strong I would have to be, whats to keep this simple signal from working?
  7. Eventually there would be zero gravity, but what happens while the field is collapsing. If a mass suddenly vanished would the gravity field collapse like a magnetic field or would the field disapate from the center out. If the sun suddenly disapeared the lights wouldn't go out for eight minutes. Also we would still feel its gravity for eight minutes. What happens at the instant the field passes you by. On the side towards the sun you have zero gravity, on the side away from the sun you still have a gravity field. Does this field pull you toward it?
  8. Ouch!! Sorry about my spelling.
  9. This question has haunted physics for awhile now. One theory builds upon the multi-universe idea, that a simular experiment is being done is a number of other universes and they somehow effect each other. I don't buy into this multi-universe theory at all. The idea of a universe for every decision or outcome that ever existed sounds crazy. I think there might be a field that extends beyond the particle in question. If the particle goes through one slot, its field is large enough to be divided between two slots. Its like the wake a motor boat leaves in its path. The boats path can be affected if it encounters its own wake. In our particle experiment, the field would extend equally in all directions. As the field is split through our two slots it affects the path of the particle. What do you think?? Still just a theory.
  10. One thing that Einstein did was to remove the need for a central reference point. Everything is relative to everything else. Also with the theorys of the universe looping around upon itself it may be imposible to pick out an exact center.
  11. This looks awfuly familar. I can read about two sentances into this before I get totally lost. Is there any way to back it up with the math. There are some small equations but can you apply them to real world situations. If you can then the theory should be proven through experiment. You say that warp kinetic energy is otherwise known as potential energy. How can one be the other? Kinetic energy is the energy of motion (ke=1/2mv^2). Potential energy is stored energy (pe=rgh). One can be transformed to the other, but they are not the same. Note: I use r for density due to lack of greek letters.
  12. I challenged this subject a couple of months ago. I never recieved a satisfactory answer. Cubing a square does not create a cube. Same with a circle.
  13. Remember the old theory about light traveling through the universal either. Just like sound waves traveling through air. What if the amount of either is fixed. As the universe expands the either becomes thinner. Then just like sound, the maximum speed is a function of the density of the medium it travels through. Hmm......
  14. This is a great site, the link is directed to one of my favorite projects. http://www.isr.us/SEHome.asp?m=1
  15. I guess what I was trying to say is that the measured distance between the events of a clock, is human design. The re-occuring event of a clock could be concieved as the second hand clicking away. I should start proof reading before I post.
