  1. I would guess that if the plates are more inclined to move after the melt and this results in an increase in seismic activity, earthquakes and volcanoes, the result might be an ice age. More like a reset to a negative number.....

I still wonder how vapor, water/rock, when in the space environment in a gravity field represented by the mass of these two bodies as a result of a spalling event depicted would behave - cores merge, angle impact, would the material leave the binary systems orbit or would it be a trail being recollected like the Earth collects debris from comets as the orbits intersect. How fast would the vapor cool, lose, radiate energy and condense in space.... Okay, I tried to get some more water on the Moon...... B)
  3. "lost to space" without being blown away or velocity to escape the vicinity of the combined mass of two planets. There may have been one heck of a volatile cycle, vent to orbit and swept up again. The debris, including water would have been in the same orbit as Theia - Earth. Once the vapor was exposed to radiation it may have been able to escape the system of debris and new Earth. This system did not have the mass of a comet or its orbit. Which would mean that the debris field was not a solid molten mass but an aggregation, accumulations of debris that was swept up. This was a planetary system not just a moon, the debris, including water would be following the same orbit. The fall to the Moon would not heat the material to a molten state, impact would depending on velocity.
  4. Thanks for the explanation, a molten core of lighter crustal material and a tremendous volume of water lost to space, blown away by radiation / solar winds.... Expected that the birth of the moon would be quite an event, a huge debris field after the spawling that would include water. Theia's molten core cooling over eons would invalidate my musings of trapped water on the moon from the collision event..... I was thinking that the ejected mass would be debris, not a solid core as depicted in diagrams - billiard balls bouncing off each other. I was thinking that the two cores merged and the lighter crustal material (including water) would be ejected as debris to reconstitute itself into our moon.
  5. I have NOT seen articles reference the original collision as a source of water on the moon. Comets and Asteroids would represent surface sources of volatiles on the moon. I have noticed this omission in several readings, maybe the original collision was obvious and not mentioned (I am dense sometimes). The source from the original collision would mean much larger volumes. As the moon condensed and volatiles were trapped they may have flowed into veins when heated by friction. Comets and asteroids are aggregates of much smaller masses and gravity would play a lesser role in their aggregate process. With the premise of original collision including a significant source of water, the model presented, at what depth would the volatiles remain trapped, protected from energy sources that would cause them to evaporate ?

Lunar Impact Uncovered More Than Just Moon Water If the moon is a result of a planetary collision with water as a component of these bodies, why wouldn't the moon have veins of frozen water throughout, trapped and protected by the refuse of the collision as the moon contracted ? I keep hearing that the moon is barren, waterless, on the surface yes, but the interior may have trapped veins, frozen and sheltered from that collision.....
  7. Yeah, understand that it is pretty close to cycle give or take a few tens of thousand years. A hot spot in a tectonic plate floating on a sea of magma, with a weight being removed at the minimum being jostled by tremendous masses.

  10. Not resistance to electric cars, just sounds like trading a dependence on oil to one on lithium or "high" tech. I was hoping that EStor would be successful with their capacitor idea, if it had any foundation. If what is being said about the Cyclone's engine is correct it would be able to use a larger variety of fuels than any ICE. This would be ideal for developing nations who may not be able to afford a power plant or had a problem getting fossil fuels to remote areas but might be able to collect methane, distill alcohol ... course it depends on the cost to build and deliver to the consumer. I was thinking of farmers also, consider they might have the roughage to make their own fuel cutting costs. Solar cells, batteries and other alternate power sources need to evolve, steam is an old concept with new technology and greater fuel sources that can be done in the near future. Basically am just tired of this dependence, if I can distill some alcohol, tap into some swamp gas, run a designed engine that would give me electric for my electronics and power for transportation I can give the oil companies the ..... well ..... and unlike the Tesla or the hybrids I might be able to replace a part.
  11. Wow ELECTRICITY did not think of that...... How are the copper and lithium supplies ? How many people ? How about the load on the grid to support people charging their lithium batteries ? Have a good fuel supply to power the grid - maybe Polywell or the Fusor will get fired up ? Maybe we could follow Tesla's research on wireless energy transmission using the Schumann resonance cavity - good luck on getting the money men to invest in that. Was just watched a show on the History Channel called the "Universe" where they discussed solar flares and the effect a direct hit would have on our technology, specifically electric - think I would want to have an alternative. This steam engine would be able to charge my "electric", power my house off of wood chips, gasoline or algae....... enjoy the grid, while it lasts.
  12. Thanks for the links.... Found this one Volcanic ash cloud: Global warming may trigger more volcanoes from the Wikipedia site. Kind of figured that someone had already gone over the volcano/climate change/mass redistribution scenario. It would be interesting to see if there was a correlation with size of polar ice pack's and Yellowstone and other super volcanic eruptions. Wonder what the Arctic core samples record for that period, how would one identify the size of the pack given the melt/freeze cycles over the eons......
  13. Here is a company that seems to be developing a steam solution Cyclone - modern steam engine.. and this pdf whitepaper on the modern steam engine in an automobile. As is stated in the white paper by James D. Crank steam has been a contender for centuries as a mode of transportation, the technology was not there to make it as effective as the Internal Combustion was. The technology is now available and with the EATR robot in the works..... Have a petition here, I would not like to see this idea be bought up by some automobile corporation and shelved. Personally it would be nice to have a power source that is less complex, more adaptable than the current internal combustion engine.
  14. I was thinking, what happens when the polar ice melts ? Solid mass turns to a liquid, if it is sitting on something like the edge of the plate, the plate shifts. Solid mass turns to a liquid, if it is on a spinning globe it flows from the poles to the equator. Solid mass turns to a liquid, it does not melt evenly so it sloshes against the boundaries, the techtonic plates. These masses in a state of flux have effect, release the pressure on top of a plate it shifts, pressure at the side from the liquid shifts it. With each major melt there should be increased seismic activity and volcanism ? Is there a way to determine the state of the ice caps just before the last Yellowstone eruption ? I am sure that it has been addressed somewhere by those who are in the fields of study but I was curious who would have and what were the results.
  15. Yes, magnetic/electric field sails such as proposed by Dr. Winglee ... using the solar wind would be interesting. Wonder if the energy provided by solar activity could be tapped into, light is not the only thing emitted by the sun. Was also considering something more direct, if fields extend between the planets why not tap into them, ride these fields like a particle....
