  1. so, perhaps someone should recommend Dr. Lehmann or others to apply for this new $25 million dollar prize for anyone with a reliable way to extract CO2 from the atmosphere. That is what TP does. I can't link yet, but it is up on the nytimes home page. it is being sponsored by Richard branson.
  2. david, how are you pulverizing the charcoal? I had already bought a bunch of cheap lump charcoal, but I am waiting to put it in the ground until I can think of a relatively efficient way to go about crushing it. Chris Brandow
  3. for those of you looking for cheap charcoal to mess around with, I have found at our local grocery store 40 lb bags of mesquite charcoal for $12. This is pure charcoal and much cheaper than most stores.
  4. I was wondering about the common practice of adding coffee grounds to soil. As I understand it, they can be 20-30% carbon, depending on how dark the roast. Perhaps the carbon content plays a role. For the home gardener this might be a simple way to add carbon.
  5. I am a chemist who likes to garden. I want to post primarily in the Terra Preta thread. It is a subject that I want to learn more about.
