  1. that's funny...I hope those in New Orleans, and Florida coast... take heed though. Miami will be under water in 100 years, or so they predict. Move! I say, unless you're over the age of 50. but hey, we gotta evolve. Why is everyone trying to conserve and keep things the same? (It defies the "laws " of science??) chlo ps...i don't subscribe to it being "all" anthropogenic
  2. call this TMI but salud etal in the romance languages also are a form of greeting...which comes from the latin salus which is to save...IOW, it was a Christian greeting meaning you wish one salvation...and of course, if you're saved, you must be healthy chlo
  3. Let me preface this with, what I know about pool chemistry is from 20 years ago. I'm assuming by a "salt generator" you mean one of those newfangled systems that electrolizes salt to make chlorine (beats the old days when I used to throw in a bottle of bleach ) My first thought would be to know if your pH is still in a good range? Get that balanced first. chlo
  4. Some think it is an "evolution" of knowledge, with our inquistive knowledge evolving into science...which will evolve to ? :) Not that this is my opinion, mind you. As for language, many linguists will distinguish human language from other communicative forms by adding a definition of grammar. Even plants are able to communicate with eachother (chemically). chlo
  5. since it seems to be a commandment, I must post this "hello to our community" it will be quick and you must forgive me as I will be an infrequent poster but I love to ask people questions as so many of us take so much for granted, we never really think about what we say...but anyway I have been a chemist for 20-some years now in the aerospace (private)industry...and that's about all I am allowed to say about my job:Wink: but on occasion I need some expansion of mind playtime in fields other than my own and will jump into various forums and lurk my own "science" nature is one who sticks firmly to the scientific method but will question someone on their scientific philosophy...sometimes because I disagree, sometimes because I don't understand...but rarely will I tell you why unless you ask me.:) take care chlo
