  1. well the paper is from 1999 so it's not THAT recent. Besides, if they published the paper and it talks about an amino acid sequence then they must have reported the sequence into SOME database. Aren't they obligated to?
  2. Howdy everyone! Say, I've got an issue. I'm trying to find some details about a bacterium, namely Bacillus sp. BN53-1, and namely its enzyme hydrogen sulfide oxidase. The enzyme was described in a paper titled "Purification and Properties of Hydrogen Sulfide Oxidase from Bacillus sp. BN53-1" by YUJI NAKADA AND YOSHIYUKI OHTA I've tried NCBI and it could find nothing. I've tried BLASTing proteins that were mentioned in the paper as having similarity to it and it couldn't find it. I've tried google and it found a few entries but non giving me an accession number for the bacterium or for the protein. Any suggestions on where I can find anythig?
  3. yeah I'm also a comp sci geek so I decided to start out with that title. How's everyone? I hope to have fun in this community and to encounter some interesting things! So my name's Boris and I'm in Bioinformatics, meaning I do biochemistry AND computer science! I'm still a univ student so go easy on me and yeah! let the good times roll! Oh yeah, I actually posted a thread also under "biology" so if anyone feels nice and would like to give me a hand with something, that would be cool
