  1. Hmm, I posted large document well sourced from prominent journals even top 1 in the world, recently top 1-5... I posted article from chief emeritus of psychiatric times! I have no idea how could I source it better... Only formatting of text in that post was off, because this formatting annoys me... But they called it pseudoscientific garbage and put into trash (without reading anything) so it wasn't even that! When I pointed that out, they changed topic instantly and they obfuscated and never directly engaged with any points carefully! It was laughable! Because they were taking revenge on me, from before when I posted about Existential Boredom, a concern of mine. I noticed if anyone posts about Existential Boredom they are acting arrogantly! Then OP gets fed up, because no one reads anything as he says that and quits a thread and I saw same names of elitists on these forums repeating and doing this over and over! They were also wrong BTW... Isn't this exactly what is happening in scientific circles? Someone comes with an idea, while mainstream doesn't like it for myriad of reasons and call it cranky, without proper scientific inquiry! That is poor argument IMHO! And then we have geniuses in history, which came out right... If you don't look "with your own eyes" and don't read it, how can you know? Or if it is so wrong I said: OK give 1 reason, they posted x times again (wasting their time) didn't give a single reason... Talking about wasting time, I noticed these elitists actually spend a lot of time answering to even plainly dumb posts and posting tin-foil hats and what not. That is literally wasting of time, so issue is not there! On other forums: scienceforums.net It is full of elitists who posts tin-foil pictures and it was really cringe! I was polite and patient, but they strawmanned me and didn't give any counter arguments! I think they were too scared to lose an argument, or overconfident... Science is largely social endeavor, you need to gain respect and reputation with publishers and top scientists otherwise: they won't publish you! They are people like everyone else and are capable of shallow behavior like this... 160 IQ person: says essentially the same things: there is problem with teamwork and submitted 1000 applications can't get a job (he had criminal record, but it was cleared, but still...). Don't get hired, even if his work is wrong, but hires psychopaths and so on... And plagiarism and others stealing his work... Also you may have IQ 140, but you may 1 mistake and your reputation is ruined forever: https://www.quora.com/What-does-an-IQ-of-145-mean?share=1 That is the thing, brilliant people are not utilized in our society. And corrupted people and psychopaths are getting to places of power. But people who mean well are left out... While I know most about Philosophy and talked to 1 philosopher and we nice and polite discussion. I Am also very rational and if I Am wrong I acknowledge that, but i need counter-arguments/evidence... I have ASD and I care only about truth!!! Wait I thought you talked about scientists posting here on these forums, being driven out by elitists! Sure sometimes laymans post sometime on scientific forums, but it is not much usually! I for example posted barely 100 posts (not topics) in 2.5 years. I was careful to a point, until I posted about Existential Boredom. I was logically consistent and correct BTW. They didn't engage with any argument, instead they used every logical fallacy in a book! Just because they were already convinced I Am crackpot, or something... And then they started to hate me for no reason! Previously I was careful, because I exactly expected that behavior... But then I was optimistic one time so... BTW I agree if layman person, or even scientist post something cranky. If it is just wrong, you don't have to explain that is true, that is if it can be verified quickly. Like something, which is flat out wrong... But problem is they don't even read anything and censor... Which is just dumb... I could understand if I was spamming, but again. I had like 30 posts in 2 years and I posted to one lounge thread, or something completely aside and instantly someone told me: I hope you are not spamming............. I think issue is in elitist on these forums, because there should be mainly scientists, or people which know something about these areas. So why are these forums dead one should ask indeed :D Did they driven even scientists away :D :D :D ? You can find evidence of elitism in scientific circles, if you want... When I go 1 on 1 with smart people like IQ 130, 140, 150, or 160. We usually agree on most things, because I Am very rational... So I don't think it is, because my post was wrong, or something... It is perversion of our times, PC and you make 1 mistake and you are done... Being wrong is great, you learn from it. Many brilliant people afraid of being wrong didn't move on and accomplished anything... Also it doesn't matter, if you are wrong, but if person who is wrong admits that! Even geniuses are wrong all the time... You literally learn like this... Don't know what to say to you, if you don't agree. Everyone has different talents and people should cooperate, if you don't see that... Not saying we should strive to be wrong, but how do you determine being wrong, unless you engage in a discussion, or give evidence??? You can't simply... It is even in politics and scientific circles, people avoid each other, just because they don't like each other...
  2. To add: also there is this Philosophical question - wouldn't it be a better use of that time to invest it to learn C++ instead, which I need actually for things?! It is probably near impossible to compare and tell! Even if you play music, or chess, or something which raises IQ the most. Then you are not learning at that time! So it would be more optimal to do something which raises IQ and you learn something useful at the same time! I Am not sure about C++ and improving cognitive flexibility, although solving real world problems in general improves cognitive flexibility. I Am more interested improving general intelligence. Or types I will need for something like: speed reading working/long-term memory problem-solving, flexibility and what not I Am great a logic, philosophy, ethics, rational thinking, mainly logical creativity/creativity, strategy! So I Am not sure what I will do yet. Probably like C++, improving classical/QM computers, or AI, which has most priority in my opinion! I Am not sure if I have a mild brain damage, or what, but I used to be very smart, I will see what I will do... You see, this is problem of decision-making: Lets say you have 3 options, following are courses of actions: 1) you could choose 1 option randomly and hope it is best the course of an action 2) you could evaluate 1 option exactly what it involves and then choose others if it seemed a bad option (supposed it doesn't have to be compared to others in order to tell) 3) you could continue to do this, or you could evaluate all of them, problem is then you waste too much time, you could already choose 1 and be doing that! 4) we can't even know what our actions will exactly do in the future! conclusion: everything is just coinflipp afterall... Some philosopher told me: you mean good, if you consider how your actions affect all people. Problem is this is impossible even for worse AI... Future is unpredictable!!! What if you mean good and cause incredible harm, this happened million times... But we agreed in the end, we should at least try...
  3. First to clarify: I Am not asking about heavy multi-tasking - where you switch between 5 tasks of different magnitude rapidly! But about Cognitive Flexibility training: particularly type of (task-switching) e.g. Jazz players do this a lot: https://www.classicfm.com/music-news/jazz-classical-musicians-brains/ Lets take as example a game: where you have table split at 2 halfs. On the left - you'll see text and it has name of a color e.g. black, while text itself is colored by a different color! On the right - you have the same thing. Next you have to match text on the left (based on name of a color it says) with an actual color of a text on the right. Like this: https://lumosity.fandom.com/wiki/Color_Match Aside: I have brain damage, Lumosity helped me to a point! I want to know, if I should train on Cognitive Flexibility as well! As I try to avoid multi-tasking at all costs - it is a snake-oil! I play like only 5 games per day in average, otherwise it is waste of time I think! I Am acquainted with studies about Lumosity... Now would something like this be considered as multi-tasking? When you have to answer a question based on different criteria each time? We all do this more, or less, when working on random problems (but in 90% of situations not as often in succession)! So I Am not sure, if you do this rapidly in a row, if this could be harmful to intelligence! It could also be defined as waiting on an input and then deciding what type of thinking to employ, like when Jazz players wait for cues and then decide what to play (they improvise). Multi-tasking is definitely unhealthy! But maybe even Cognitive Flexibility training may be, as it is like double edged sword, if you over-do it! While it is beneficial to flexible thinking! It was found that learning how to play an instrument and to compose can raise IQ, but I read article about this in general! Not sure if same stands for e.g. Jazz (where you task-switch a lot)! Also IQ tests are comprised to measure Cognitive Flexibility besides other things, so this may not be the best metric to measure IQ/intelligence increase from picking up musical instrument (in this case for Jazz)! Article cites 9.71% IQ increase from population mean, which isn't that much, but it is decent: https://www.classicfm.com/music-news/learning-musical-instrument-increases-iq-10-percent/ BTW I was also considering about picking-up a musical instrument later, as I read 95% of people have genes for it - it is more about a hard work! I don't care what it is, it has to be most beneficial to intelligence increase (not solely IQ)! Thank you for answer!
  4. Hello, I don't post much on scientific forums! I tried scientificforums.net and I had only 93 posts over 3 years... Because I was busy reading over 1 million articles about Free Will. I try to gather compelling evidence before presenting any claims! But apparently if you try to speak about bigger and more sensitive issues, you get instantly censored and only flamed by elitists on these forums! I even linked sources to prominent journals ranked top 1 in terms of impact factor and with decent history of impact factor! Studies with hundreds of citations... And no one even read and discussed anything, or provided any counter-arguments, proof, or sources!!! I was only flamed and my topic was instantly moved to speculations... Wouldn't you think that on scientific forums posts shouldn't be judged based on reputation? But maybe based on veracity and validity of sources, facts, logic, empirical evidence and what not? But science is largely a social thing: https://medium.com/@mtobis/who-decides-what-is-true-b6d9057489cd And elitism is a problem in the scientific circles, e.g. mathematical circles: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41599-020-00680-y I Am polite and constructive, as long as the other side is too and someone doesn't act in bad faith... Then I will defend myself naturally! Do you think? Can I post here something politely and constructively without being flamed, harassed and being censored?! That would be great! PS: I have ASD and I just care about truth, I will say how it is!!! Sometimes people can't handle that...
