sanctus Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 Just a quick question: what do I have to do so that the formulas are not enumerated through all sections like (1),(2), etc. But in the first section like (1.1),(1.2),etc and in the second like (2.1),(2.2),etc. Also is this possible in the article class? Or do i have to choose the report or even the book class? Thanks in advance. Quote
alexander Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 check this out, just look throught the file and run it through latex, the numbering scheme should be quite satisfying :cocktail: if not then we may have to dig deeper  Quote
sanctus Posted February 12, 2007 Author Report Posted February 12, 2007 Thanks very much, I figured it out after comparing the documents code with my code, you have to type before the begin{document}:numberwithin{equation}{section} and I guess if you replace section with subsection you get even the 1.1.2 for example. You are right this document teaches a lot! Did i àunderstand right that you can make your own comands , for example if I want to shorten the left( to ( I do it just do it by typing: def({left(} Quote
alexander Posted February 13, 2007 Report Posted February 13, 2007 yes sanctus very much so, you can most certainly make your own commands... they are more like xml or css definitions, but yes, nontheless your own personal commands :) Quote
