Lancaster Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 Godspeed You! Black Emperor: 20 minute long climactic orchestral arrangements. (favourite). A Silver Mt. Zion: Side project of Godspeed. Sigur Ros: Icelandic band has an incredibly unique sound. Very soothing at times. Biosphere: if you want to consider music for sleep, this Norwegian electronic artist is great. Tormod 1 Quote

smartypant Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 Can you recommend few good songs which are soothing to listen to ?even instrumentals will dowhile we are at it which is your fav band ? My favourite band is Greenday but I guess rock wouldn't soothe you!!:D So I'm guessin you should listen to some of the songs from Broadway...OLD Broadway! It's the best. Also listen to some jazz bands like Speakin' Out. They're great to listen to. Slow and peaceful. That's all I recomend. Especially songs from Broadway. I always listen to that to cool down after I have a disagreeing quarrel with my mom and dad. Don't mind about me. I'm only 10 ya know! Quote
chill Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 Bossa nova is an incredibly soothing genre of music in my opinion. Listen to Lisa Ono's bossa nova vol2 collection. I find some voices have really soothing qualities. Listen to Rachael Yamagata and Corrine Bailey Rae. Trip-hop is soothing, sort of hypnotizing. Thievery Corporation and DJ Krush are good. For instrumental, there's Claude Debussy (classical) and Joe Hisaishi. Good stuff. Quote
