Celeste Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 Today I had to say goodbye to my beloved friend...Boz. He fought a valiant fight against cancer for over 2 years. I will miss his dearly, he was a constant companion for 12 years. Tormod 1 Quote
Buffy Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 I send my commiserations: I lost my black lab Shadow to cancer too. I still dream about the hours I used to spend tossing her tennis ball, which she never tired of ever. There is nothing better than a great dog,Buffy Quote
infamous Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 I'm really sorry to hear about your loss Celeste. I lost my favorite black Lab a few years ago. I lived in the country back then and Buddy, my dogs name, had all the room he needed. Sadly, he was run over by an automobile one summer and I had to put him down. It practically broke my heart, I really loved that old dog. Labs have always been my favorite breed because they are so gentle and fun loving. I live in the city now and don't really have room for a dog any more. I've thought about that old dog many times in the past and truly, I miss him desperately some times........Sending my heart felt condolences.....................Infy Quote
InfiniteNow Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 You don't have to say goodbye, say "thanks for the smiles." :D Death is something all life has in common, but I'm sorry for the grief you feel. Cheers Celeste. :hihi: Quote
smartypant Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 You don't have to say goodbye, say "thanks for the smiles." ;) Death is something all life has in common, but I'm sorry for the grief you feel. Cheers Celeste. ;) Hey Celeste,It's not a crying face you should put on:naughty: . It's a happy face like this:) ... You're not really saying good-bye. To prove an author( Gail Carson Levine) who feels the same way, I have a quote here:"Everyone called it losing Mother, but she wasn't lost. She was gone, and no matter where I went - another town , Fairyland, or Gnome Caverns - I wouldn't find her. We'd never talk again, or laugh together. Or swim in the River Lucarno. Or slide down the banister or play tricks on Bertha. Or a million things" If that only makes it worse read the lyrics of this song that's from the same book(Ella Enchanted):"Hard farewell,With no greeting to come.Sad farewell,When love is torn away.Long farewell,Till Death dies. But the lost one is with you.Her tenderness strenghtens you,Her gaeity uplifts you,Her honor purifies you.More than memory. The lost one is found" Cheers:cup:,Smartypant Quote
sanctus Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 I guess 12 years was a nice time spent with him, hold yourself to that. The memory will always be nice. Quote
Chacmool Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 Hey Celeste, losing a beloved pet is just as hard as losing a close human friend. Thanks for sharing the pictures; now we can also remember Boz fondly! ;) Quote
