Tormod Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 It's been a while since I posted any of my music pieces so here we go. This is my entry for this month's contest over at KVRAudio.com where I am a member. Hopscotch (128K mp3, 1.7MB) It's supposed to be a "love theme" this month (because of valentine's) so I named it after two of my loves: Whiskey (scotch) and beer (hops). Enjoy! TheBigDog and Lancaster 2 Quote
Lancaster Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 Excellent work! What program did you use? Maybe Reason?Dare I say. . .Garageband? Quote
Tormod Posted February 10, 2007 Author Report Posted February 10, 2007 No, I use Ableton Live 6. The drums are various loops, but the guitar is played by me, as well as the keyboard and bass parts. Quote
Jay-qu Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 I think you could play halo to this with some slight ajustments B) maybe its cos I love halo really cool T B) Quote
Edella Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 Nice guitar playing Tormod! The style and tone is (to me) reminiscent of Robert Fripp. Thanks for sharing. Quote
InfiniteNow Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 The style and tone is (to me) reminiscent of Robert Fripp. Thanks for sharing. That's one hell of a compliment! B) Thanks for sharing indeed. B) Quote
Tormod Posted February 10, 2007 Author Report Posted February 10, 2007 Thanks for all the kind compliments! Robert Fripp is certainly on my list of inspirations although I don't model my tone after anyone in particular (simply because I'm not very good at reproducing other people's tone...) B). For the interested, here's another piece I posted back in 2005:Myse - 128Kbps MP3, 2MB Quote
skuzie Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 Good Stuff. B) Check out my latest one: http://www.thebinarytree.com/skaza/songs/Skaza_Recording_165.mp3 ... and my own attempt at someone elses tracks ... A bit too trancey for me but well produced. ... and my own attempt at someone elses tracks ... Coldplay - The Scientist Short Remix attempt hehe: http://www.thebinarytree.com/skaza/songs/Skaza_Recording_180_ColdPlay_The_Scientist.mp3 You should try singing...the cheesy lead makes it sound like muzak... B) Do you play the piano? Quote
InfiniteNow Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 here's another piece I posted back in 2005That is pretty. It's like being on a journey through an imaginative land. I was transported by it, and it brought a smile to my face. I'm not a music critic, but I know what I enjoy. B) Quote
InfiniteNow Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 Check out my latest one:Right on, skuzie. I liked some of the others you'd posted in the Hypography Music thread a while back too. B) Quote
skuzie Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 Do you play the piano? Not really, i know how to read notes but i never practiced so it takes me forever to read them. I like the whole sequencing method where you can construct each chord bit by bit and make it exactly how you want it. Thanks for the feedback :) Quote
Tormod Posted February 10, 2007 Author Report Posted February 10, 2007 What do you use, Skuzie? Which sequencer? You're into tracking and stuff aren't you? Quote
skuzie Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 What do you use, Skuzie? Which sequencer? You're into tracking and stuff aren't you? I use propellerhead reason 3.0 which is sequencing, have a keyboard and a fader conected to it. I did tracking back in the day using impulse tracker, running in DOS oh yeah old school hehe. Quote
Tormod Posted February 10, 2007 Author Report Posted February 10, 2007 Reason is cool. I used it a couple of years ago but switched to Ableton Live since I wanted to use VST's. I used both for a while but sold Reason because I didn't use it enough to justify keeping it on the shelf. :naughty: Quote
TheBigDog Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 WOW!!! Cool Tormod. :) :singer: Quote
