Hydrogen, I find your male-female duality in the concept of body and soul to be interesting. But in my opinion, identifying such with Spirituality would seem an epitome of stereotyping. At a macrocosmic, holistic perspective such duality may also be perceived as positive-negative, light-dark. But even when the topic had probed beyond the soul, the concept of Singularity was not brought up. I do not agree with perceiving beyond the concept of soul as if still retained with duality; Singularity may as well be perceived in the higher realms of Spirituality.

From what I probed, they were a very ancient race. The biblical creation was very much a recent version of attempt to explain our origin. If we are to base it on arceological evidence, the pyramids in Egypt (presently dated at 10500 BC) and in the america's …
The oldest Egyptian pyramid (the stepped Pyramid of Djoser) is dated, through various methods, at 2630-2611 BC. Mesopotamian pyramids are much older, ca. 4000 BC, American pyramids much younger, ca. 1000 BC.

These dates, at those of other pyramids, are widely confirmed by radiocarbon dating, a less precise but more reliable technique that dates the wood found in the pyramid.

I’m aware of no credible evidence of any substantial structure dating at 10500 BC, though archeological evidence of simple, hut-like structures have been dated as far back as 500,000 years ago, prior to the appearance of anatomically modern humans.

… could provide proofs of the existence of a lost continent in the middle of these areas, which Plato referred to as "Atlantis".
Plato writes of Atlantis in critias, and, much more briefly, Timaeus. He place the date of its great war, and sinking into the ocean, at 9000 years before his time, or about 9500 BC, its area about 240,000 km[math]^2[/math], a bit smaller than New Zeeland. (though consisting of many islands connected by bridges, enclosed by a protective wall, rather like a very scaled-up medieval or modern Venice.

Again, however, it’s important to keep in mind that many of the people and places described as fact in Plato’s writings are entirely fictional, and that the story of Atlantis appears to have originated entirely in these writings. Although there are many earlier written legends and histories, none of them mention Atlantis, Lemuria, or a similar great lost island state.

If you look at the pyramids, they have four sides, that touch the earth and then point to the sky or sun to form an apex. The four sides were symbolic of the body-soul duality in male-female that had developed from natural instinct, which changed prehumanity in a pivotal way to allow civilization to begin. The point at the top is the singularity to which the process is heading. They didn't make a 3,5 or 6 sided pyramid because this would not have reflected the intuitive reality of that time.

If we look at the symbolic spirit of male and female, female spirit is connected to mother nature. If you look at nature, it is composed of diversity and even opposition, which all balance together to form eco-systems. One has carnivore preditors that eat vegatarians. Vegatarians are preditors ,in their own right, and eat plants. Many plants have developed their own defenses against this veggie preditors. While the veggie predictors have developed countermeasures. We now corral our plants in farms for easy slaughter.

If one focuses on a lion killing a prey the process may look brutal. But if you back out and focus on the big picture (mother nature) it is a part of the natural balance needed to maintain a healthy eco-system. It is not right or wrong, but morally neutral and needed for the health of the entire natural body of the eco-system. The female spirit allows a women to love the diversity in her own family, with the artist important like the athlete. Even arguing among siblings is often allowed to go further by the mother than father, since it too is a natural part of her families eco-system.

The male spirit is the spirit of truth (reality). For example, with the prehumans, the male spirit would not judge whether a lion is good or evil but rather it is what it is, i.e, aggressive animal, deal with this reality. The male spirit may come up with strategy to cope with this reality.

When the male-female spirit work together, female appreciates the differences, oppositions and diversity that comprise their families natural eco-system. While the male deals with this reality in a rational way that helps optimizes the adaption of this diverse family. The bible calls this the tree of life, since this adaptation expresses nature and evolution.

The tree of knowledge, or laws to appease the anxiety and insecurity associated with the practical reality of female sexuality (pregnancy and children) changed the connection to the male-female spirit and essentially put it out of reach for a long time.

Let me give an example. The sabertoothed tiger may have been one of the primary preditors at the time of the prehumans. The natural female spirit would say, it is very frightening but it is a natural part of the eco-system whose purpose is to maintain a sense of balance. The male spirit would say, OK, the sabertooth tiger is here to stay, we need to learns its ways so we can better coexist and be less vulnerable.

When the tree of knowledge appears (symbolic) the goal is not natural balance but the need to appease fear with some law or procedure. One short term solution may be to kill off the sabertooth tiger, since that would eliminate a lot of anxiety. This statement has a level of truth to it, so it seems reasonable. The long term problem is that the eco-system will be knocked out of wack. Whereas keeping the sabertooth tiger maintained anxiety, it allowed the environment to be in steady state, thereby allowing the big picture to be far more predictable (solid data points for rational relationships). But once the eco-system goes into flux, the data points change and the environment became less rational or more empirical, with now more margin of error due to the flux of change.

For example, with the sabertooth tigers, the herds were more predictable, since they may avoid areas where the tigers live and collect in defensive areas. The tiger would also limit the food animals and selectively evolve them for healthier herds. Without the tigers, the constraints on the herds change, altering behavior. There is now deforestation and dissease due to over population leading to sickness. There is also more forced migration as the herds lose fear and look for new food, etc.

Laws of good and evil, took away the natural spirits in male and female because the flux of change was not indicative of a natural balance in the eco-system. While the lack of steady state made the environment far less rational and predictable. What took the place of the tree of life (natural spirit in male-female) was a mytholgical spirit, stemming from the world of dreams, due to the natural repression, further altering the connection to nature.

In other words, natural animals are realists and react instinctively with cause and affect (they don't think but react in the best way that one could logicalcome up with under their limitations and circumstances). If we domesticate an animal, that ability to integrate with nature gets messed up. With respect to humans, the spirits were lost, requiring short term fixes or law, which compounded the problem.

If you look at political correctness, there is a parallel going on. Instead of females embracing all the diversity of a social eco-system, they are trying to appease anxiety by making certain social preditors extinct. But even the buzzards and weasels are part of a natural balance. The result is a social flux that is amplifying fear, where, for example, one needs to be afraid to speak one's mind. I am not sure if this is progressive or ancient pre-history repeating itself. The females need to find mother nature and look at the bigger picture, so men can adapt rationally (steady state) instead of empirically (in a regressing social flux). The next historical step is mythology, where the human mind becomes more wacked out. You can already traces it in the small children (need for meds).

Craig, I have posted my reply to Parallel Dimension.. thread. I feel compelled that these discussions can be continued on the probing of our 'Ideal Past' over there. I had pointed out as to where the 10500BC was based. Also it becomes intriguing that such dates seem to significantly identify other events as well, just as the website on Plato's writing had mentioned it somewhat contemporary with Atlantis. Such links tend to intrigue me while doing such probing, because it had somehow linked up with the consistency of the dates despite the limited (or erased, such as the sinking of the Atlantis continent) archeological evidences.

Legends, or even myths, do not necessarily constitute as fiction. Ancient humanity may have lacked the modern amenities that the present had, but they may not be gullible. What the ancient lacked in modern scientific terms they resort to symbols. It may also be noted that they had made fantastic achievements that kept modern society entirely baffled even up to this day. Also certain factors need to be considered as there were also mention of catastrophic events that could have wiped out further evidences, such as the Great Flood that occured perhaps around 11 millennia before Christ. I guess only the oral traditions by the 'survivors' seemed left behind, in which modern humanity should be thankful that such legacies had remained, rather than dismiss such knowledge as make-believe. Speaking of fiction however, a good example would be Bush's puppet media manipulation on non-existent Iraqi WMD that exposed modern society's gullibility.
