EatsPlanets Posted February 13, 2007 Report Posted February 13, 2007 Hello all! I've been perusing these forums for a couple of months. At some point whilst googling, I came across a link to the Quirky Science Facts forum. So that's where I started. Now I'm no scientist, but I think a lot of the discussions on here are over my head. Of course that doesn't mean I can't enjoy them. After all, I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Elegant Universe (even though almost every word of that book left my little brain shortly after reading it). I also love sci-fi! Signing off.Emily Quote
InfiniteNow Posted February 13, 2007 Report Posted February 13, 2007 Hello EatsPlanets, Welcome to Hypography. I'm glad you've pushed through the curtain, out of the shadows, and decided to contribute to the community. Enjoy your stay. :bat: Cheers. :hihi: Quote
Tormod Posted February 13, 2007 Report Posted February 13, 2007 Welcome Emily! :hihi: I'm a sci-fi buff myself. Quote
Buffy Posted February 13, 2007 Report Posted February 13, 2007 Greetings! You don't have to be a science-whiz to have fun here. But please don't eat our planet! The Elegant Universe is only fairly accessible to non-scientists: he still sometimes forgets what most people have long forgotten or never knew about math...you might want to try "The Whole Shebang" by Tim Ferris: it doesn't have the string theory stuff in it, but it covers the first half of The Elegant Universe's content in a little bit clearer language. Have fun! High iron content,Buffy Quote

Boerseun Posted February 13, 2007 Report Posted February 13, 2007 Well, hi there, you old planet eater, you! If you're into moons as a snack, watch out for Io - sulphur makes you fart. (Do I get bonus points if my threads pull new members?:hihi:) Chacmool 1 Quote
