schlik Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 Okay, I'm out of Ontario (Canada) and I can't seem to find a place to buy surgical tubing. I need it for a project (Van de Graaff Generator), if anyone know where to get some around here please help. Otherwise, I need a substitute material, that would work for this project. Any ideas? CraigD Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 Try googling "yellowpages surgical supply store" followed by the name of your town (or your largest nearby town, if you're rural). If you can stand the wait and shipping cost, you should be able to order such stuff online without much difficulty. I’ve also seen it in sporting goods stores, as it’s used in a variety of exercise gadgets, slingshots, etc. Surgical tubing is otherwise known as latex rubber tubing. Quote

Tried that, nowhere that I can get it in a reasonable amount of time, I've chosen to go with a plastic belt instead. Quote
Fatstep Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 Try using a bicycle inner tube, I've made one before from one of those, or try a big rubber band/vacuum belt.
