I wouldn't say that I am 100% against any Redhat products such as Redhat or Fedora Core. Over the past year or two of my Linux life, I have heard many complaints on varying topics in Fedora and Redhat. This however is no different then any other Linux distro out there. Everyone has a complaint or two about something.

I briefly had the chance to play around with Fedora Core there (when I was attempting to help you with your WiFi card), and like others I have a couple complaints. For instance, depending on the release you might not even be provided with a kernel source. x86_64 Fedora Core is the example of this. Next, Fedora lacks any form of official documentation site. Perhaps I am just spoiled because Gentoo has a Wiki for documentation (oh, and killer install docs too!). The last complaint might a little foolish, because I understand the reasoning for doing it (security). However the fact that some of the most commonly used commands have been placed in the secure bin folders, requiring full paths to be written in order to run them.

Would I ever install Fedora or Redhat on my computers? Probably not. There are other distro's out there that I have a less number of complaints about. However as a little twist to this, when I start college in April I will be receiving copies of Windows 2k and Redhat to be used for course related material. I am fighting whether I should ask to use a different Linux distribution (my sights are on Slackware), or stick to Redhat. The reason for even questioning this fact is I've heard far fewer complaints in areas that I agree with in Slackware, when compared to Redhat.

Redhat was the first distro I tried, 10 years ago or more. About the time of kernel 1.32 or 1.34. I hated it, deleted it after a day or two and never looked back. My next distro was Caldera 1.2, kernel 1.36 with their Looking Glass Desktop. It was OK but when 1.3 came out they dropped their desktop which kind of irked me so I switched to SuSE and stuck with it through version 9. Recently their new owner, Novell, sold out to Micro$oft so all I've got at the moment is a Win2K box. I'll probably go with Debian or some flavor thereof on my next install.

For corporate Linux with support and stuff, i would definitely recommend Suse over any RedHat-based distro any day :)

But Debian-based distros totally rock... Its just worth for their PMS (as in package manager), rpm blows...
