C1ay Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 Check out the Fixed Earth website, the non-moving Earth and anti-evolution web page of the Fair Education Foundation. Read all about the Copernican and Darwinian myths aiming to challenge the "truthfulness" of the bible and creation itself. It's a riot... Queso 1 Quote
Mercedes Benzene Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 Hahaha. That's funny. I kinda reminds me of UncleAl's website. Quote
Pyrotex Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 My company network blocks the site, due to "Alcohol & Tobacco" content. Now, there's a real laugh. Quote

Tormod Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 This website, and the organization behind it, was in the news here in Norway. Our press finds it ridiculous that anti-evolution belief and fundamentalist religious views actually are accepted (even expected) among politicians in the US! :( Quote

But what it really is -- is scary. The fundies over here have been intentionally building a grassroots political base ever since Goldwater was defeated for the office of president, back in the 1960's. One wing of this movement, wants to replace the secular Constitution with a new one based on the Ten Commandments and other Old Testament verses. We have two fundies in the office where I work. They have a "right" to openly speak and post messages about their faith, and even about how evolution has been proven wrong. But if I post anything on the bulletin board about "the fact of evolution" or "freedom from religion", it is considered publically offensive and must be taken down. I am infringing upon their rights. It's public knowledge now that you cannot get elected over here unless you can convince some of the electorate that you take the Bible literally. Be afraid. Be very afraid. Quote

You should try practicing your own freedom of religion then. Ever thought of becoming a pastafarian? There's really just as much physical evidence supporting a belief in the FSM as there is in a biblical God. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em :( Quote

I love how they dismiss scientific fact, yet state that science has proved their idea that the earth does not rotate. Crazy... Quote

Also: admitting to atheism is political suicide. There may very well be atheists in the 3 branches of government, but they are unable to admit it. Quote
Jay-qu Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 Big bangism :( "An electromagnet and computerized sensor hidden in its display stand cause the Earth to levitate motionlessly in the air." Could God have engineered something like that for the real Earth? The Bible and all real evidence confirms that this is precisely what He did Yup, god created a massive structure with electromagnets in it that levitate the earth... levitate from what I ask? surely not gravity.. Quote
Pyrotex Posted February 21, 2007 Report Posted February 21, 2007 Big bangism :) Yup, god created a massive structure with electromagnets in it that levitate the earth... levitate from what I ask? surely not gravity..Oh ye of little faith! Know ye not that the Earth is caught between the opposing forces of Righteousness and Evil? Above is heaven, below is hell. Above us is also the Firmament, a solid structure that supports the stars and carries the celestial magnets of God; these "magnets" (for that word is only a metaphor for the actual objects themselves, which are transcendent, and above all physical Laws) hold the Earth just barely out of the reach of the Pits of Eternal Damnation. Indeed, these "magnets" have been rightly called the "Hand of God" his self. Now we will pass the offering plate. Quote
Boerseun Posted February 21, 2007 Report Posted February 21, 2007 Amazing... To think that thousands of years have passed since the Ionian awakening, and still we hold our superstitions dear. Quote
