alexander Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 One of the more popular genres, that is most commonly associated with electronica is dance.... soDance: YouTube - Darude - Feel The Beat Music Video http://youtube.com/watch?v=wYXOdGzOP9g Joop and Tiesto tend to stick to this danceish trance, but there are plenty of different types of trance, here for example is Acid trance. YouTube - Hardcore, Trance and Acid (Dj Flizzy mix) http://youtube.com/watch?v=JFJapm408PE&feature=related here is yet another style of electronica, slower, more relaxing if you want that. Tis Tribal, notice the slower beat. YouTube - SAMIM - HEATER ( DJ HKN YLMZ TRIBAL MIX) http://youtube.com/watch?v=v8C1rPu-Mrw or if you like a slow beat, there's trip hop, something to this extent: YouTube - Doctor Who theme (TRIP Hop remix) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjXyQvtG6Mc also nu-jazz: YouTube - DZihan & Kamien - Sliding [nu-jazz] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHl8RDfQdsM Now if you are ready for upbeat stuff, lets start with another one that people confuse all the time, for some reason people hear this and think it's dance... beats the hell out of me, but but there is lots to be said for drum n bass YouTube - Drum N Bass Mix 2 MUST SEE!! DJ Manik http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pvg4RuM8jXM hard trance  YouTube - Hard Trance - Tricky Tricky http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEpAxtyyPl8 industrial: YouTube - Combichrist - Without Emotion http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELitVw1e_vI oh another easy to listen style... euro techno YouTube - Euro-Techno http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oL_0qVi6774 i'm gonna work on some mixing, later yall :) Quote
freeztar Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 The Monster, SteppenWolf, 1960's protest song but eerily, it's even more revalent today! Dude, thank you! Ironically, I bought this tape at a second hand store and drove to N.C. to go camping in Joyce-Kilmer. I listened to the tape, ejected it, flipped it over, and hit play, the whole way there. ;) It is indeed a great protest song. I love Steppenwolf all around! On my wall in the living room, I have the LP of their album "The Second" framed. (right next to the same of Sgt. Peppers ;) ) I'm off to listen to some Steppenwolf... "Powerplay" :) "Remember that if you plan to stay, those that give can take awayDon't bite the hand that feeds you." "It's time we put our heads together and let them know we're awake." And the music ain't bad either! ;) My Dad saw them live in Columbus, GA, at a small outdoor stadium. He said that they played all day into the night. At one point the band left and the bassist performed a two hour solo. ;) :)My Dad claims that it was amazing. I'm sure it was. :) Quote
