Why does :phones: fill our inboxes? Because it WORKS!

So the question is simple: Have you ever responded to a :spam:? The poll is anonymous so you don't have to say so publicly, and if you want to share your stories, you can tell us how your "sister" or "funny uncle" once did (wink, wink)...

To keep the thread otherwise entertaining, you can also post your favorite :spam: recipes like Cool Cucumber Avocado Sandwiches.

Um Buffy you just made my night. I made a cool cucumber avocado sandwich and it was a series of crunchy onion orgasms, OH!

I just love good food, and cooking, and hypography, and information.

Thank you

Spammers should be painfully and slowly eviscerated.

I can't reply and abuse them. So the above will do.

Often I am not on the same continent as they are and can't buy their viagra or other crap anyway. Sometimes -not that I did buy viagra but a had a 'friend' who did -you can't access their site anyway so what's the point?

free money for servers, telephone Co. and mailing lists?

I just eat my Lebanese cucumbers like a man whole- just bite a big hunk off the end- no effete sandwiches, with the crust cut off !- thank you thats for "The Importance of Being Earnest"

:) :D :cup: :) ;) ;) :D :) :) :) :)

Not only do I not respond to spam, but if I get spam the company (if identifiable) goes on my 'do not buy from' list.

This goes for fax spams I used to get at work too. Those were fun though as I could actually call the company and inform them that I was interested in what they were selling, and I would be buying from their competitor as I HATE SPAM!!

Spam is a bit salty, so you need to make it with something that tastes better with salt. Things like potatoes (let's say hashbrowns with crumbled/fried spam added) or a casserole with spam, corn, and cream cheese, complete with jalepenos.

Now, neither of those can be considered favorite recipes, since I've never actually tried them, but it sounds kinda good.

A bit? You've obviously never tried it! My dad lived in Hawaii for a while, where :phones: is considered a delicacy, and it is almost always cooked with Pineapple or (much more rarely because its hard to get it right) Papaya or Guava.

Salty-sweet...Yum-o!

i too use gmail and love its spam-zapping capabilities, however i do get a lot of those nigerian bank scams where they ask you to give them your bank details so they can 'rest some funds' in your account. of course you make a healthy cut of whatever goes in. NOT! they take all your money and the law cant help cos what you were doing was illegal in the firstplace.

unfortunatlely i am a vegetarian so i cannot sample any of your delicious sounding recipes for it. how about stir fried with green beens and ginger?

I do respond once in a while. 2 or 3 times I can remember spam popping in my inbox and a quick check revealed the IP was legit, the box was online and had open network shares :) (You gotta love M$ sometimes.) In times like these I have been known to respond in my own way via those shares. It's not a very bright idea to spam network admins if your spambox is not secure.....

If you can bother:-

Use GMail to Find Out Where Your Spam Originates

If you’re like me, then you’re junk mail folder needs to be emptied daily. Everything from PayPal Scams, Grow Your Penis, and Buy Our Pills, to jibberish, to cleverly crafted image fragments which don’t seem to fool the spam filters anyhow. Gmail and other free email providers out there tend to do a good job with classifying mail as spam - although since email has been around for so long, spam filters should be fairly intelligent by now. But have you ever wondered how these spammers get your email address in the first place? Did the spam engines happen onto your email address by randomly

No!

Unfortunately, I used my real gmail address on one of google's usenet groups, and that's all it took....
