Neuro Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 I am a student of Psychology, Biology, Anatomy, Physiology, and other medical related sciences. In the long term, I will have a career in the medical field. I came to this forum quite randomly. After reading some of the threads I decided I wanted to have a say and went on to register an account. I've found that I cannot post in any threads without first posting here, so, here I am. I was at a time very interested in concepts of ethics, morality, psychology, psychiatry, sociology, philosophy, ideology, music, mortality, politics, and the human brain. Now, I am less interested in such and have more or less gotten my fill. I like anonymity so I will tell you nothing more about myself, who I am, where I am from, and what specifically I will be doing or have done in the past. Don't bother asking. You can enjoy the interplay of thoughts without the precise knowledge of who they are coming from. I will be honest and you will either agree or disagree. I am not here to play overtly nice because I don't need E-friends. I may lose interest with this community in time and eventually disapear. Farewell for now as I've to make breakfast and headout for the day. That is all. Quote
Tormod Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 So, where are you from? :hihi: If you're having breakfast I'm sure it's not Europe. Welcome to our forums! Quote
Neuro Posted March 5, 2007 Author Report Posted March 5, 2007 So, where are you from? :hihi: If you're having breakfast I'm sure it's not Europe. If I've said specifically what it is I don't want to discuss about my personal life, why did you then go on to speculate and make this the basis of the discussion? Curious.Welcome to our forums!Danke. Quote
Tormod Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 If I've said specifically what it is I don't want to discuss about my personal life, why did you then go on to speculate and make this the basis of the discussion? Curious. You should add "humor" to the list of subjects you study. Quote
Neuro Posted March 5, 2007 Author Report Posted March 5, 2007 You should add "humor" to the list of subjects you study.I am not a fan of a social activity that is always engaged in at someone else's expense. Humour is a cancer to the mind. I do not laugh and I do not care for humour. Your jokes will fall on deaf ears with me. Lastly, no. I should not add humour to the list of subjects that I study because I do not study humour. Quote
Tormod Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 Humour is a cancer to the mind. And you study psychology and medicine? :hihi: Well, I'll retract my welcome then. Here's to a sad day! Quote
Neuro Posted March 5, 2007 Author Report Posted March 5, 2007 And you study psychology and medicine? :hihi: Well, I'll retract my welcome then. Here's to a sad day!I am in it for the money. I will have a career helping people, it doesn't require that I like them. People will pay alot of money to stay alive it seems. Social interactions in the real world are little more than games that are easy to play. Psychology, if anything, supports this theory. Quote

Queso Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 I wonder what you would do with all of that money, if you're not into fun. Psychologically asking,Do you find certain activites fun? Or is everything not fun?Do you enjoy...anything?Or Do you enjoy not enjoying? Quote
Pyrotex Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 Why is it that when I read Neuro's posts, I seem to hear them spoken in Arnold Schwartzenegger's thick Austrian accent?? "I vill be back." pgrmdave 1 Quote
CraigD Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 I am a student of Psychology, Biology, Anatomy, Physiology, and other medical related sciences. In the long term, I will have a career in the medical field.Welcome, Neuro! As an long-time medical professional, your I’m gratified by your ambitionI've found that I cannot post in any threads without first posting here, so, here I am.This policy, and other number-of-posts-based restrictions, exist in large part to prevent automated and manual “spamming” of the site with advertisements. Members are invited, but not required, to use it as an opportunity to relate personal information and otherwise socially connect with the hypography community. You’ve clearly passed this informal antispam test, so welcome now to the other forums!I like anonymity so I will tell you nothing more about myself, who I am, where I am from, and what specifically I will be doing or have done in the past.Hypography is primarily a science site, so as long as your science is strong, I’m confident you’ll be appreciated, regardless of your level of anonymityI may lose interest with this community in time and eventually disapear.[/url]As may any member, and as many have. I hope you’ll find the exchange of ideas here wide and changing enough to engage you for some time to come. An observation, however:I am not a fan of a social activity that is always engaged in at someone else's expense. Humour is a cancer to the mind. I do not laugh and I do not care for humour. Your jokes will fall on deaf ears with me. Lastly, no. I should not add humour to the list of subjects that I study because I do not study humour. As a student of psychology, I suspect this omission will prove limiting. As the current state of the art stands, psychology is a very subjective field. Quote
Mercedes Benzene Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 I am in it for the money. I will have a career helping people, it doesn't require that I like them. Let me guess. Do you idolize Dr. Gregory House? ;) Quote
Neuro Posted March 6, 2007 Author Report Posted March 6, 2007 Wow - you must be great at parties...I stopped going to parties when I came to the conclusion that this planet is inhabited by a bunch of low lifes. You should be warned -you're breaking rule #0.Hm. I could not find a list of rules on the forum, I’ve looked. Care to elaborate?wonder what you would do with all of that money, if you're not into fun.I am into comfort, longevity, satisfaction, stimulation, and fulfillment.Psychologically asking,Do you find certain activites fun?Not so much. I seek stimulation, usually through form of discussion and mental interplay. Or is everything not fun?Fun is a foreign concept to me. Things are neither humorous nor fun. Existence and time are not laughing matters, just dull ones. The two can be enhanced with levels of comfort and stimulation.Do you enjoy...anything?Hard to say. As time goes on my standard of living improves. I live comfortably, I eat well, and I receive the necessary levels of stimulation that make this life tolerable. The only things left to be desired are immortality and power.Or Do you enjoy not enjoying?I don’t approach life with a goal of not enjoying it. Just, I find the emotional states of laughter and fun to be idiotic at best. Laughing is a very dark thing, sort of a biologically induced insanity. Arguably, it is mind control. No laugh reflects individual intelligence. No laugh reflects kindness. Laughs are very dark things; windows into insanity. I am not exactly on-par morally or ethically with my fellow inhabitants of this earth, that much is obvious. I coexist but am disgusted with their existence. I use it to improve my own standard of living and that is all. I do not care for society or social interactions. As I’ve said, I am not here to make friends but am here to discuss because discussion is intellectually stimulating.Let me guess. Do you idolize Dr. Gregory House?I've discussed in depth with someone of my unique situation and they've suggested House countless times to me becuase of my studies. The irony is, I've never once watched the show and know virtually nothing about him besides similarities that have been brought up. Long story short, I despise television, shows, and films. If House is a fictional character like me, that is fine and well. I do not much care. Quote
pgrmdave Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 At the top of the forum page, you'll find a few links including the rules. Here's a direct link to them: http://hypography.com/forums/?page=rules I apologize for being a bit mocking, but these forums are meant to be enjoyable, and coming here with intent to not have fun is...odd at best. I notice that you are into longevity - are you aware that laughter, and fun, are linked to longer lifespans? Quote
