Thorshammer Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 My name is Lee, and I live in Dallas, Texas. I was actually looking for a German language forum where I could try to start posting in what little German I know. I am trying to learn it so when I end up going to Germany I can enjoy the trip a bit more. I love history, and my focus is generally on Europe. I am an artist and designer, and like old Norse subject matter in my work. I like the look of this forum, and it's a nice bonus that it is a science forum. Quote
Buffy Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 Welcome to Hypography Lee! We do all kinds of interesting stuff here. Hunt around and explore and jump right in. And bug sanctus because he's pretty fluent in German and lives "next door" to all of them... Have fun!Buffy Quote
Tormod Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 I love history, and my focus is generally on Europe. I am an artist and designer, and like old Norse subject matter in my work. Wilkommen! Wir haben eines Deutsches Forum: http://hypography.com/forums/german-forum.html (und mein Deutsh ist nicht gut!) Quote

Thorshammer Posted March 14, 2007 Author Report Posted March 14, 2007 Thanks Dave! Glad you like the art! JungJedi, I am very glad to be here. Not only do I feel comfy in here, but I appreciate how active and friendly the forum is. I always check the frequency of posts in a forum before I even bother to register:) Fan of Carl Jung? I am (realizing of course that not everyone is...). Lee Quote
Thorshammer Posted March 14, 2007 Author Report Posted March 14, 2007 I have been enjoying my readings of Jung alot. His psychology has alot of obvious elements of older Germanic Spirituality. For instance, the concept of a "collective unconscious" is right from the old Nordic concept of Urlag, or a continuing consciousness spanning back into primordial times... Quote
jungjedi Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 the only things i am familiar with from reading is beowolf-the bee wolf-or the bear.and a few things about rognarok.oh,and sigrfreud and bruenhilde.my understanding of jung comes from refrences made by joseph campel and the force in star wars from the heroe with a thousand faces Quote
eric l Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Hallo Junglejedi, Wir warten auf Ihnen auf das Deutsche Forum. We are waiting for you on the German forum Aber fragen Sie mir nicht über Jung oder andere Psychologen zu debatieren. But do not ask me to discuss Jung or ohter psychologists Sie können am besten auf einen Draht eine Antwort geben. Thorshammer Posted March 14, 2007 Author Report Posted March 14, 2007 Was ist Los, Eric! Danke, mein Freund(sp.?)! Quote
eric l Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Was ist Los, Eric! Danke, mein Freund(sp.?)! I should have adressed my previous post to you of course, since you started the thread, I must have got confused somewhere. It is just that we have so few users for that German forum, and that I try to help by writing with subtitles added. It did help me a lot learning other languages. BTW, "Los" in "Was ist Los" is not a noun, so no need for capitalization. Quote
Thorshammer Posted March 15, 2007 Author Report Posted March 15, 2007 Thanks Eric! I do feel the subtitles added help me allot, since I am still a beginner.:esad: I have been reading in the German forum a little, and I'll do my best to jump in. After all, that was what I was looking for when I found this site. Quote

eric l Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 so....im not invited into the german forum? Quote
