Just thought that the Buffy dweebs and dorks might want to know. The first issue came out last Wednesday..Hey! I like dweebs and dorks, no matter whether or not they like me! Guess I have to actually go to a comic store huh. I've never been in one. They look scary.... Anyone who's not having fun yet... follow me, :DBuffy Quote
Buffy Posted March 23, 2007 Report Posted March 23, 2007  No seriously, when I was little I thought you had to be a boy to go in there! Speed Racer is about as far as I go with "anime" too...well, and I liked "Kimba" ... This is how many apocalypses for us now? :DBuffy Quote

This is how many apocalypses for us now? :DBuffy Ok, I can understand the comic aversion, but with respect to Anime, you must review the classics before you rule them out. I suggest two that are notoriously user-friendly: Akira and Princess Mononoke. They both deal with social/political/ethical issues in a very clever way. These make you think whereas speedracer is kinda....limited. Quote
Buffy Posted March 23, 2007 Report Posted March 23, 2007 These make you think whereas speedracer is kinda....limited.I'm sure they do. Its the format that I've never acquired the taste for. I can go on for hours about Japanese film though. I'd be happy on a desert island with Seven Samurai, Hara Kiri and The Harp of Burma.... The suspicious mind conjures its own demons, :DBuffy Quote
freeztar Posted March 23, 2007 Report Posted March 23, 2007 Seppuku 1962... But really, Princess Mononoke is a different beast...highly recommended. It deals with a lot of theoretical stuff in a very creative manner.YouTube - princess mononoke in 10 mins http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EuXoPMf5LLk Quote
