Hello everyone and a quick intro.

My name is Ken MacClune. I am a scientist working on atmospheric methane, its sources and sinks, using global concentration measurements and isotopic measurements. I have many years experience studying atmospheric chemistry, biosphere-atmosphere interactions, paleo-climate, climate change, and policy issues. Personal interests include running, politics, history, world events, society, psychology, health, diet, and cell biology. I'm also just starting to get into swimming. I live in Boulder Colorado but grew-up in Washington D.C. and New York City. Though that sounds like privileged (and it is in some ways) I have a working-class background which makes me unusual among my peers.

I've spent enough time in Harlem and Adams Morgan not to jump to that conclusion! :)

I think you'll find there are quite a few like-experienced people around these parts!

How did you find us?

Have fun!

Howdy Buffy!

Found you through Google Alerts. Terra Preta was the alert. Other than the emoticons, looks like an interesting community ;) .

Yup, not all DC is advantaged. Adams Morgan, Anacostia, Petworth, etc.

Cheers!

Ken
