Since no one took the initiative....

Use this thread to vote for your top 5 photos from the March submissions thread.

Voting rules:

1. All registered members may vote

2. All participants *must* vote or they will be disqualified

3. Participants cannot vote for themselves

4. You vote by listing your top 5 entries in the order of preference, like this:

1. Oneguy: My Chicken Farm
2. SomeGirl: Cold Turkeys
3. SmartIQ: Eggs on my Face
etc......

where #1 gets 5 points, #2 gets 4 points, #3 gets 3 points, #4 gets 2 points, #5 gets 1 point.

5. You can only vote once, and you vote for the best photo, not best user (meaning that you can vote for more than one photo by the same user). The votes are summarized per photo.

6. You may NOT edit your vote after it has been submitted, so make sure your listing is correct!

7. The deadline for voting is March 31st at 23:59 GMT.

If multiple members get the same score for their winning photo, they will each get the first price, which is a Hypography Coffee Mug and a one-year Hypography Sponsorship (ad-free forums).

Please do NOT discuss the votes in this thread - use the Contest Thread for that.

Happy voting!

Mercedes Benzene: Abandoned Sactuary

Mercedes Benzene: Hidden Bridge with Children

TheBigDog: Snow Fort

You need to implement a rule about the number of submissions allowed. MB submitted tons of pictures, and all of them were great. He will win a mug by this logic. Not that I am against MB obtaining a mug, just sayin’….

Not necissarilly, you see points dont accumulate for one member, its the pic with the most votes that wins, so while he may get a lot of votes - unless one pic is heads above the rest he will just have a spread of votes over all his pics.

1. Tormod -Church in Crete

2. Freezta - Panama City Beach

3. Mercedes Benzene - Myan Ruins

4. Sanctus - Submission 1 (roman road)

5. Gribbon - Malmsbury Manor

Not a whole lot of entries this month. Maybe we should try a "free-for-all" next month?

No time for reviews, sorry. We should try to appoint 2-3 people per month who writes up brief reviews so people get feedback on their entries. It would be nice to see this contest blossom.

Here are my votes:

This one was hard for me. I wasn't necessarily voting for best picture (as far as technique, focus, etc went), but the ones that I thought best captured the theme (and my attention).

Anyway:

1. Gribbon "Malmsbury Manor"
2. ronthepon "For on Hill"
3. TheBigDog "Flooded by Design"
4. Monomer "National Wine Center"
5. Tormod "Church in Crete"

OK, here are my votes. This was a much more difficult decision than last month's contest.

1) "Fort on the Hill" -ronthepon This one jumped out at me the very first time through the pictures.

2) "Hidden Bridge with Children" - MercedesBenzene I think this has the best composition of all the pictures.

3) "Roman Aqueduct" - Jay-qu I love the visual texture of the aqueduct, and how it dwarfs the modern elements in the photo.

4) "National Wine Center of Australia" - monomer - I think the building is fantastic, but I wanted to see more of the building. It seems abruptly cut off.

5) "Lego Dragon" - freeztar I love this picture.

Honorable mention to Janus for his picture, but it seemed slightly out of focus to me. Tormod had an excellent contribution as well, very stark. And Sanctus's bench was near the top of my list as well. Like I said, it was a tough bunch to judge.
