Queso Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 I like all of them. Set up a contest and let's start competing. Quote
TheBigDog Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 How about life's foibles? Pictures where something in the picture is not quite right... Fun pictures. Bill Quote
Queso Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 I like it. What does everyone else think? Quote
LJP07 Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 Do competitions all have to be picture ones? Maybe a change for this month would be worth a change? :( LJ Quote
Jay-qu Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 I like bigdogs idea ;) because it makes the submissions thread a bit more fun :D Quote
Tormod Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 The photo contest will always be a picture one...I suggest we stick to it. We can always do other kinds of contest in addition. But it will take some time to establish the photo contest and get more people to participate in it, so let's focus on it IMHO. I think the topic "Light" is a good one, Freezey! It's open enough to resemble a "free for all"... ;) Quote
Tormod Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 Pictures where something in the picture is not quite right... Oh, that would be about 5,000 of my photos. And it's not fun. ;) :D Quote
Jay-qu Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 light? 'Yeah, my picture was made with it..' a little too open? Quote
Monomer Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 Light could be an interesting theme. Would there be any restrictions or guidelines, or would it just be open to interpretation? Quote
freeztar Posted April 5, 2007 Author Report Posted April 5, 2007 I think the fun is in interpretation. For instance, what criteria would you use for voting? ;)You might take it literally, but that's no fun.An example of a creative use of the theme might be a sepia-toned photo of a light-bulb sitting on a table unused. The votes naturally weed out the more flippant entries, imo. Quote
freeztar Posted April 5, 2007 Author Report Posted April 5, 2007 I am in, whatever the choice. Ditto ;) Quote
Michaelangelica Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 How about life's foibles? Pictures where something in the picture is not quite right... Fun pictures. Bill Great, but us 'technologically challenged', still haven't worked out how to post pictures. Quote

What you need to do is: Click New Reply in the thread. Then click on the paperclip at the top of the message box (it's next to the smiley face). A new box will open that has Manage Attachments at the top.Upload the file by clicking on Browse, then select the appropriate picture. freeztar Posted April 5, 2007 Author Report Posted April 5, 2007 Well, so far the popular vote seems to be "life's foibles".In an effort to get this thing off the ground, I will be opening the submission thread at the end of the day (about 12 hours from now, my time).Any (further) objections/approvals/suggestions should be posted today. I might end up using RANDOM.ORG - True Random Number Service to pick from the suggestions depending on the amount of input recieved today. Quote
Tormod Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 Household objects is a cool choice! I'll definitely get a photo or two in! :) Quote
