April Contest, no?

MB? Tormod? Anyone?

Well, I'll go ahead and kick it off with some discussion until the mods come by and create the submission thread. :(

Possible Themes:

Sky

Water

Rock/Earth

Photos of photos

Photos of paintings

Music

Household Objects

Food

Dance

Light

People

ok...I'll stop there with themes. Like any of them?

Any other ideas?

Discuss.

The photo contest will always be a picture one...I suggest we stick to it. We can always do other kinds of contest in addition. But it will take some time to establish the photo contest and get more people to participate in it, so let's focus on it IMHO.

I think the topic "Light" is a good one, Freezey! It's open enough to resemble a "free for all"... ;)

I think the fun is in interpretation.

For instance, what criteria would you use for voting? ;)

You might take it literally, but that's no fun.

An example of a creative use of the theme might be a sepia-toned photo of a light-bulb sitting on a table unused.

The votes naturally weed out the more flippant entries, imo.

Great, but us 'technologically challenged', still haven't worked out how to post pictures.

What you need to do is:

  1. Click New Reply in the thread.
  2. Then click on the paperclip at the top of the message box (it's next to the smiley face).
  3. A new box will open that has Manage Attachments at the top.
  4. Upload the file by clicking on Browse, then select the appropriate picture.
  5. Click on Upload and when you submit your reply a thumbnail of the picture will be in the post.

Now we look forward to your contributions! ;)

Well, so far the popular vote seems to be "life's foibles".

In an effort to get this thing off the ground, I will be opening the submission thread at the end of the day (about 12 hours from now, my time).

Any (further) objections/approvals/suggestions should be posted today.

I might end up using RANDOM.ORG - True Random Number Service to pick from the suggestions depending on the amount of input recieved today.
