I have never seen this as a contentious issue; but I have just been jumped on for my suggestion that Male Circumcision may have some use in preventing the spread of disease.

What Is Lost?

When a baby boy's normal healthy foreskin is amputated, this is what he

will lose -- forever:

*+1. The pleasures of his multifunctional natural foreskin, which comprises

50% or more of the mobile skin system of his penis. If unfolded and spread out flat, the average adult foreskin would measure more than 15 square

inches (the size of a 3 x 5-inch index card). This highly specialized

tissue normally covers the glans like an eyelid covers the eye, protecting

it from abrasion, drying, callusing (keratinization), and contaminants of

all kinds. The effects on male and female sexuality from the loss of the

natural foreskin have never been studied.

 

*2. The pleasures of his ridged band. Recently discovered (1996), this

half-inch wide band of soft, irregular, accordion-like corrugations is the

most intensely innervated erogenous zone on the male body - controlling and

triggering the male orgasm. The loss of this densely innervated, sexually

reactive, and pleasure-producing foreskin tissue reduces the full range and

intensity of sexuality - male and female.

 

*+3. The pleasures of his foreskin's 'gliding action'- the hallmark

synergistic mechanical feature of the natural human penis. This non-abrasive gliding of the penis in and out of itself (evagination-invagination) when masturbating or when within another body facilitates smooth, easy, pleasurable movements for a man and his partner.

Without this remarkable gliding action, sex as nature intended it is

impossible, and the corona of the surgically altered penis malfunctions as

a one-way valve, scraping natural lubricants out into the drying air and

called Meissner's corpuscles, the single most important sensory component

of the natural/intact penis, encapsulated Pacinian, Vater-Pacinian,

Ruffini, and Golgi-Mazzoni corpuscles, Merkel's tactile cells, nociceptors,

and branches of the dorsal and perineal nerves.

Altogether, between 10,000 and 20,000 specialized pleasure-producing nerve endings of many types, which can feel slight motion, pressure, stretch, subtle changes in temperature, and nuance in texture, are lost.

 

*5. The pleasures of his frenulum, the highly erogenous V-shaped web-like

tethering structure on the underside of the glans that is frequently

amputated along with the foreskin, or severed, either of which destroys its

subtle and important mechanical function and its capacity for giving

pleasure. The frenulum forms two sides of the area called the frenular

delta - the most intensely innervated part of the ridged band.

 

6. The pleasures and functions of more than half of his

temperature-responsive peripenic smooth muscle sheath called the dartos fascia.

 

7. The protection of his immunological defense system of his smooth mucosa

of his inner foreskin. This produces both plasma cells that secrete

immunoglobulin antibodies and antibacterial and antiviral proteins such as

the pathogen-killing enzyme lysozyme.

 

8. The protection of lymphatic vessels, the loss of which reduces the lymph

flow within that part of his body's natural immune system.

 

9. The value of estrogen receptors - the biological/sexual purpose of which

is not understood and needs further study.

 

*10. The value of his apocrine glands of his inner foreskin, which secrete

pheromones - nature's powerful, silent, invisible behavioral signals to

potential sexual partners. We know the effect of their absence on human

sexuality can be profound, but have never been studied.

 

11. The protection of his specialized epithelial Langerhans cells, a

first-line element in his body's natural immune system in a whole penis.

 

+12. The unknown value of the pink to red to dark purple natural coloration

of his undamaged glans. The connective tissue which protectively fuses his

virgin foreskin and glans together while his penis develops, is ripped

apart during male foreskin amputation, wounding the glans and the foreskin

remnant, leaving them raw and subject to infection, scarring, pitting,

shrinkage, and eventual discoloration.

 

*+13. The pleasures of the full potential of his natural penis length and

natural penis circumference because its double-layered wrapping of loose

and usually overhanging foreskin is gone, making his partially amputated

penis truncated and thinner than a full-sized natural penis.

 

*14. The value of several feet of blood vessels, including the frenular

artery and branches of the dorsal artery. The loss of this rich vascularity

interrupts normal blood flow to the shaft and glans of his penis, altering

development of his penis and damaging its natural function.

 

*15. Every year boys lose their entire penises from foreskin amputation

accidents and infections. Some are then 'sexually reassigned' by castration

and 'transgender surgery' and told to live their lives as 'females.' The

long-term effects of trans-gendering experiments are unknown but recent

evidence indicates it can be psychologically devastating for the victim to

live contrary to his natural sexual orientation.

 

16. Every year many boys lose their lives from the unreported and concealed

complications of non-therapeutic, non-indicated, unnecessary foreskin

amputation surgery; a fact the multi-billion-dollar-a-year male sexual

mutilation industry in the US obscures and ignores.

 

17. By encoding violence on the brain, the infant's emotional bonding with

his mother is disrupted, delaying his social development.

 

18. Indications are that his innate sense of trust in intimate physical

contact at this pre-language state of his development is inhibited or lost

as a result of suffering such excruciating pain at this early age. In its

place are instilled fear, confusion, and a sense of betrayal by his mother.

 

19. His natural self-confidence and hardiness, by forcing the newborn

victim into a defensive psychological state of 'learned helplessness' or

'acquired passivity' to cope with the excruciating pain which he can

neither fight nor flee.

 

The trauma of being tied down and having the most sensitive part of his body ripped apart and then skinned alive will forever lower his pain threshold below that of intact boys and girls.

 

Contrary to pseudo-medical myth, the natural penis with its foreskin intact

is not defective or dangerous and does not require urgent surgical

correction. Through four thousand millennia of trial and error, Nature has

perfected human sexuality as a physical collaboration between two

exquisitely complimentary designs.

 

The vagina was not designed to accommodate a dry, keratinized, and immobile penis. Forcibly amputating a man's ridged band is a barbaric form of 'neurological castration' that will forever deny the abridged victim the capacity for experiencing many pleasure-producing sexual sensations.

The lack of the mobile rolling-bearing gliding action of his natural foreskin system will forever decrease the range and intensity of sexual pleasure for a man and his female partners.

 

To irreversibly alter and sexually dis-endow a man without

provable, immediate therapeutic need and without his permission is criminal

assault-morally unjustifiable and cruel.

I frankly don't know much about it. It's not really an issue in Norway, and few men are circumcised.

Weather or not males or females are or are not.

It all comes down to personal hygiene.

Solely for religious reasons, it should not be done. Unless, when the person is old enough to think for himself (and I guess herself), and they want it done, they can have it done. If it's solely for a religious reason, just, no. If it helps in diseases, maybe. Either way, the to-be effected person needs to consent. Babies cannot consent, nor can their parents speak for their child. Condoms are definitely more helpful, and I assume the skin can, 'preserve', bacteria inside there... But as said, it does come down to hygiene.

 

Yes:

 

-if it somehow is proven to help from diseases ±~75% (which it won't...).

-if the person consents to having it done.

 

No:

 

-if it is just for whatever religious reason.

-if condoms are better at protecting than not having the skin (which they are).

 

 

To the poll, you should add something like "If one consents to having it done". ;)

i say yes , it is healthy , it has religious purpose ( if you believe in that ) and not just for the sake of those things but for the sake of your child in the boys locker room , most kids have it done and get grief if they dont and the last thing our kids need growning up is added stress on the delicate balance

Point blank: Female circumcision is a disgusting, archaic, mutilating practice which continues to this day due to the vast and unfortunate commonality of deep insecurities and fears of males regarding the fidelity of their mates. Basically, they cut off the clitoris on a child female so she can never enjoy sex, and hence will be less likely to cheat when she reaches the age of marriage. It’s like cutting off your dogs legs so he won’t run away.

 

Male circumcision protesters argue the point that the child has no choice in the matter, and the trauma of the experience causes unconscious anxieties and neuroses to emerge later in life, but the argument here is a bit more gray.

 

I found a really good article on female circumcision at the link below. It’s centered around some legal implications, but is a great overall source. It will take some time to get through, but is worth the read for those with a genuine interest in the topic.

after doing about 3 mins of research I have come to a postulate....

 

Circumsicion was invented by tribal behaviour.

 

The old way of mating, where men would show off thier 'errect state'with the head proding out would have illicited the female to become aroused when seen (we were naked at the time) - some males that couldn't get it up, or a tribal tradition instanciated by womens likings was instaciated - cutting the foreskin off so that the head is constantly exposed --therfore putting the penis into a fake limp errect look, illiciting more female copulation. (the exposed head must have been a real turn on, and still is, my Gfreind love watching it pop the head out! and stand to attention like an army recruit.)

 

The other postulation is that in the old days a 7yr old boy would be more of an adult, and was probably experiencing sex at a much younger age... therfore curbing any genital defects that may arise from having a foreskin.... society has changed, and as a result, mum or dad have to teach how to keep the forskin clean, and may hove to ripp it back if it ever gets stuck during development. (usually around the age of 5-8)

 

--the 'religious sects' that go about torturing thier young to curb any necessary involvment during thier bodies development - are well, lazy.

 

 

--then their is the femal counter part....

 

infubulaton performed by the Egyptians type,, probably culturaly veiwed women as nothing more than a vessel, and therfore took part in 'engineering' the vessel to thier liking. -making sure that the vessel was only used by its owner!!!

-the type used occaisonally by the middle east, is somewhat similar to the male counter part 'exposing' the erectness appearance... these guys probably had a thing for 'sticking it in'(penis) with minimal foreplay... ie a vagina that looked as though it was ready on the spur of the moment was highly regarded... and if you could give it the 'fake' look of erection - who cared if it was pianfull when it entered(penis).

 

PS - those that don't have a foreskin -- you can get some of it back, it's not exactly the same, but it's more pleasurable for the partner.
