I’ve encountered an annoying bug/feature of the “Search this thread” feature.

Searching the 1961 thread for “VSL” or “actually” returns “sorry - no matches”, while searching for “geometrical” or “proponents” returns several finds. Each of these words appears in the post #41.

The ability to searching for acronym usage is useful and a commonplace need. Without the built-in search feature having it, it’s necessary to use browser search features, an external editor, old-fashioned eyeballs, or other less convenient methods.

I’ve a hunch the search function is using a “omit common/too short search terms” rule, and that the rule needs to be turned off or adjusted.
