Grab for life’s gusto

To Bloom on Earth but to Blossom in Heaven.

She Lived Life with Intensity.

I visited a cemetery once and remember these two sentiments engraved on two different head stones. The first seems to be the banner for religion. It has an appeal to most citizens. The second has appeal to many but only a few can decipher accurately its meaning.

What does it mean to ‘live life with intensity’? I suspect most would judge that money is the key to such a life. I think that money is the key to comfort, which is not a key that would fit the lock on a ‘life lived with intensity’. I suspect that wealth is the death of ‘life lived with intensity’.

I will have to recognize at least one exception to this and that is George Soros. George Soros is both rags to riches--fantastic riches in a domain of finance that he alone began--and an individual with a highly developed intellectual life. I read a book about him and by him and I find him a model of one who has lived life with intensity.

I think that a developing intellectual life is the means to a ‘life lived with intensity’.

sometimes you find the most intensly avid life livers and givvers as the poorest of us....

I was once at the train station waiting to go to Uni...

As I was eating my potatoe chips, an older lady, not elderly but grey hair atleast, sat down next to me, with another more elderly man, and started to unwrap thier sandwiches. --she asked if she could have some of my chips... she stuffed the chips in her sandwich, which really surpirssed me (thinking only the young generations do that) --this spawned conversation.

-she was an exubarrent 'oracle' type of person, her outward exubarance had direct cuase and effect on the people around her... she was not rich, and to tell you the truth, I think she was actually helping the elderly man on his own quest (I think she was just feeding him) - both were drably dressed, though the lady somewhat colorfully however meagre the clothing was.

The piont I am trying to make -- it doesn't take money --it takes orange hair, and a 'mobility' for life. - being a 'blue man' may make you millions - but are you rally happy miming your life?
