but why overcomplicate things?

A quark is a fermion, they make up protons and neutrons. They come in 6 flavours -Up, Down, Bottom, Top, Strange and Charm- and also in 3 colours (not to be confused with real colours) -red, green and blue. The quarks are held together by gluons and are the only particles to interact using all 4 fundamental forces.

A quark is a fermion, making protons and such

coming in six flavours, kids love them too much!

Bright colours they lack but to take up the slack

we assign them with colours or else they'll be black!

Held together by a glue so magical, you see,

we call it 'gluons' to make it easy for you and for me.

There are forces all over the natural world,

but only quarks are lucky enough to use all to interact!
