Europa Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 I am currently a member of the SETI Institute. I Study the feasibility of extraterrestrial life, in a microbial sense. So, microbial ecology, terrestrial and the contrary, consume my worries and intrests.Hmmmm, It is common in human communication for two people to speak of hobbies. Synoptically, I enjoy to acquire knowledge by practice of the imagination. This also encompases laborious testing to support my imaginative thoughts.Frankly, I am happy to introduce myself and look forward to being an active member of this well respected site. Quote
Buffy Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 Welcome Europa! We've got quite a few interesting discussions on the topic lying around here (including the infamous 2364), and quite a few of us are big contributors of CPU time to SETI@Home! (I know that's not you guys, but we're on the same team!) Have fun!Buffy Quote
Europa Posted April 16, 2007 Author Report Posted April 16, 2007 Wow, such a quick response, if only radio wave feedback was so,lol.Thank you for the friendly information. I agree 100 percent, we are all on the same team. Quote
Tormod Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 Exactly what do you do at the SETI institute? How is it performed? Quote
Europa Posted April 17, 2007 Author Report Posted April 17, 2007 I am overjoyed that you asked.I work on serveral aspects of feasible extraterrestrial presence. I will commence with my pride, radio wave-feedback. This is done by means of large circular disks directed at centurian in hopes of recieving radio waves back. This dose not mean that I am completely swayed by mere thought. I agree more with the presence of microbial life, which leads me to what I do with passion. I studied microbial ecology and applyied conceptions in agreement with what these microbial extraterrestrials would look like on Europa. This concept has led me to gaseous extraterrestrials. If you have any more questions please ask. Quote
Europa Posted April 17, 2007 Author Report Posted April 17, 2007 It is a department directly connected to CSC(Carl Sagan Center). I worked under Dr. Janice Bishop. To find out more information, go to SETI Institute Projects. Unfortunately, this program will not allow me to post URLs untill I have 10 posts. If you have anymore questions, just ask:) Quote

Buffy Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 Cool! So what office do you work out of? Cheers,Buffy Quote
Tormod Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 I worked under Dr. Janice Bishop. Didn't you state in your first post that you are *currently* a member of the SETI institute? :) Quote
Europa Posted April 17, 2007 Author Report Posted April 17, 2007 Office? My research information is faxed to me by the department and inturn I travel to meet the needs of my research. Right Now, I am in Lansing Michigan, hoping to visit MSU's Center for Microbial Ecology. So, you mentioned before that you fund SETI@home. Do you agree with microbial extraterrestrials or organized intelligent extraterrestrials? Quote
Europa Posted April 17, 2007 Author Report Posted April 17, 2007 Didn't you state in your first post that you are *currently* a member of the SETI institute? :) Please do not be confused, the SETI Institute and the Carl Sagan Center are directly connected for the sake of research. Quote
Europa Posted April 17, 2007 Author Report Posted April 17, 2007 Tormod, Why have I heard so little about ISA? Quote
Europa Posted April 17, 2007 Author Report Posted April 17, 2007 Please do not be confused, the SETI Institute and the Carl Sagan Center are directly connected for the sake of research. I should probably elaborate so that there is less confusion. CSC and SETI, sre practically the same. The difference comes into play when money is involved. The names only sperate funds recieved, not the goal or institution. Is this clear? Quote
Buffy Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 Tormod, Why have I heard so little about ISA?What's ISA? Why should we have heard of it? TMT: Too many TLAs,Buffy Quote
Europa Posted April 17, 2007 Author Report Posted April 17, 2007 What's ISA? Why should we have heard of it? TMT: Too many TLAs,Buffy No reason, I was just hoping that the admin would know why the ISA user on this introduction forum was speaking like he had superiority over everyone who talked to him? Quote
Turtle Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 No reason, I was just hoping that the admin would know why the ISA user on this introduction forum was speaking like he had superiority over everyone who talked to him? Think of it as an inter-cranial orbital instability on Mr. ISA's part. I think you can safely just go around that. Welcome aboard. :) Quote
