The April 13th edition of New Scientist carried an article titled "Axis of Evil a cause for cosmic concern" 'Axis of evil' a cause for cosmic concern - space - 13 April 2007 - New Scientist Space

that discussed how two groups of researchers had noticed that the polarisation of quasar light and 'spiral galaxy' axis of rotations were aligned with the artifacts (octopoles caused by solar system and galactic rotation) found in the WMAP data.

Universe map runs into local difficulty - 11 December 2004 - New Scientist Space

Does anybody have any other ideas on how experiments could be set up to give us a clearer picture of the universe, apart from making observations from a view point that follows a trajectory that negates our solar systems spin and rotations around our galactic center?

Quantum gyroscope could reveal Universe's spin - 14 July 2002 - New Scientist

Also, can anybody provide a working model (apart from optical feedback loops/cycles) that explains this as an optical illusion or a natural phenomena?
