Ufology_Exobiology Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 Ave quisque :hihi: My interests RelativityPhysics. a theory, formulated essentially by Albert Einstein, that all motion must be defined relative to a frame of reference and that space and time are relative, rather than absolute concepts: it consists of two principal parts. The theory dealing with uniform motion (special theory of relativity or special relativity) is based on the two postulates that physical laws have the same mathematical form when expressed in any inertial system, and the velocity of light is independent of the motion of its source and will have the same value when measured by observers moving with constant velocity with respect to each other. Derivable from these postulates are the conclusions that there can be no motion at a speed greater than that of light in a vacuum, mass increases as velocity increases, mass and energy are equivalent, and time is dependent on the relative motion of an observer measuring the time. The theory dealing with gravity (general theory of relativity or general relativity) is based on the postulate that the local effects of a gravitational field and of acceleration of an inertial system are identical. ExobiologyThe study of life beyond the earth's atmosphere, as on other planets. StringTheory Physics. a mathematical entity used to represent elementary particles, as gravitons, quarks, or leptons, in terms of a small but finite stringlike object existing in the four dimensions of spacetime and in additional, hypothetical, spacelike dimensions. The theory of such objects (string theory) avoids the many mathematical difficulties that arise from treating particles as points. provided by; wik.com and dic.comMTheoryUnification of the five superstring theories. I am currently attending college. I am studying for my p.hd in Psychology and my masters in Exobiology. I am frequently asked,"why such two different sciences?" To this I can only say, my psyche is infinitely dimensioned. Quote
CraigD Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 Welcome, UfEx (at 11 syllables, we’re gonna have to call you something shorter than Ufology_Exobiology in ordinary conversation)!I am currently attending college. I am studying for my p.hd in Psychology and my masters in Exobiology. An interesting and unusual combination. In what is your undergraduate degree? (assuming you’re not one of those rare folk who go straight into a PhD program) I understand Exobiology is a very new degree program, currently offered at only a few US universities. I, and I’m sure many of us here at hypography, would be interested to read your impression of the program, and how it differs from traditional programs in astronomy and biology. I hope you’ll find hypography as interesting and educational as I have. I think you’ll find it a very interdisciplinary community. Quote

Otherwise, I do believe that I would have scrutinized the art of non-fictional composition. Quote
