HappytheStripper Posted April 26, 2007 Report Posted April 26, 2007 Do you find yourself in stressful situations.. ?? Do you remember the event that caused such stress..?? It seems to me.. a large majority of people under the influence of stress.. cannot remember the event that caused them stress.. because they were immersed and focusing on the act of.. stress itself :hihi: I think being stressed would possibly cause me.. more stress.. as I am not usually the type of person to stress over any situation.. I am propelled into thinking about stress.. due to my good friend.. whom is currently undergoing some major life changes.. and he is stressing.. and I dont understand why he is stressing.. because this state of being is not in my nature.. so.. I'm turning to Hypographies greatest.. to gain understanding.. not necessarily of the biological kind.. more of the mental kind.. and the emotional kind.. thanks.. :) My current beliefs are.. stress is a challenge of the environmental kind.. when a person is challenged to act/respond in a particular way.. Anyone else care to enlighten me.. Thanks Ashley Quote
Queso Posted April 26, 2007 Report Posted April 26, 2007 Synchronicity!I was just reading about this... ( Ascension & The Dimensional Paradoxes of Reality - Netherlands - tribe.net ) If you're interested in reading that really interesting txt, scroll down a bit. I try to convert stress into intensity, locate it's source, and then act out the ritual I must perform to ease the knot in my space/time muscle. :hihi: Quote
InfiniteNow Posted April 26, 2007 Report Posted April 26, 2007 Stress is there because it has helped survival. Our biological evolution is still catching up to our societal and technological evolution, hence mechanisms previous beneficial are now often the opposite. Some people are even addicted to stress. Our cells get used to the flood of delicious cortisol and adrenaline, and then become desensitized to it, hence needing more. The cells then respond by sending more and more “hey, send down more cortisol” messages to the brain, and the self-reinforcing cycle perpetuates. Check out the links within this site to drill into a bit more. Fish are stressed too? Maybe they should go for a swim. :) Evolution of Stress Symposium From the different link which I tied to the photo: "We think that addicts may react to emotional stress in the same way that their stress hormone system reacts to the metyrapone test," says Dr. Kreek. At the slightest provocation, CRF and other stress-related neurotransmitters pour out into the brain, producing unpleasant emotions that make the addict want to take drugs again, she suggests. Since life is filled with little provocations, addicts in withdrawal are constantly having their stress system activated, she concludes. Anyway, good luck to your friend. His good times would lose all meaning and significance if it weren't for these tough times. Cheers. :hihi: Quote
