Hello all members, this is a posting from Norway I live about 100 km. north of Oslo in a place called Skreia.

I am 43 Year`s old and are interested in computers, and computer history. One of my goals would be too make a "Turing Machine" ! I drink, smoke.

Because of health problems I am not employd. But I feel like I am working all day with emails, and computer projeckts on my own. I have education in electronics, computers MCP sertified (Microsoft Certified Professional), W2000P and W2000 Server.

I read a lot, from good writer`s as: Wilbur Smith, Baldacci, LeCarre, Clive Cussler etc. I allways have a book that I am reading. History is also very interesting, and scince, space etc. Follow the news every day Norwegian broadcasting, CNN, BBC, Al Jazera.............

I also have to daughter`s living with their mother but chat with them on MSN nearly daily.

That`s a little bit about me in the beginning

Welcome to Hypography Karl!

What would you build a Turing machine out of? I always wondered what Babbage would have built if he'd known about what Turing would later invent....

Have fun!

I think that I would build a Turing machine out of Nanotechnology micro robots, and use their self reproducing capabilty to change their operation modus depending on what kind of logical problem they face.

Your Babage question is very interesting since I am a big "fan" of him as a scientist, I think that the computer world would have been much more advanced if Babbage knew about Turing`s theory. And I am shure that Turing then would have made a much more advanced theory...... :) we can just dream about where we would have been today, my guess is that we could have been maybe 20 years ahead of today.

Best Regards
