Queso Posted April 29, 2007 Report Posted April 29, 2007 Hello. Let's explore ourselves and a state of consciousness called sleep paralysis. Ready? Sleep paralysis is a condition characterized by temporary paralysis of the body shortly after waking up (known as hypnopompic paralysis) or, less often, shortly before falling asleep (known as hypnagogic paralysis). Physiologically, it is closely related to the paralysis that occurs as a natural part of REM (rapid eye movement) sleep, which is known as REM atonia. Sleep paralysis occurs when the brain awakes from a REM state, but the bodily paralysis persists. This leaves the person fully aware, but unable to move. In addition, the state may be accompanied by hypnagogic hallucinations.More often than not, sleep paralysis is believed by the person affected by it to be no more than a dream. This explains many dream recountings which describe the person lying frozen and unable to move. The hallucinatory element to sleep paralysis makes it even more likely that someone will interpret the experience as a dream, since completely fanciful objects may appear in the room alongside one's normal vision. Nature of experiment:To explore sleep paralysis and document results, and discuss methods to induce sleep paralysis collectively. Here's how it works:Go to sleep.Sleep anywhere between 4-6 hours.Wake up and write down your dreams (ALWAYS)Now, you can go back to bed a minute after you wake up, or three hours.Everyone's star-shaped body and mind is different. Here's the fun part.Kick back and watch your mental movie. The trick to entering sleep paralysis is not getting tricked into paying too much attention to what's going on in your mind. Just watch it like it's a TV (but way better!)After a while, you will become more relaxed....breathe deep.....heart slow.... LOOK UP AT YOUR THIRD EYE This physically activates your inner vision, TRUST ME. If you successfully enter sleep paralysis, you will hear loud, frightening noises. It will feel like your soul is being ripped out of your body. You must remain aware and conscious this entire time. Don't get lost within yourself. Stay awake while you leave your body, and DO NOT BE AFRAID.It can be really scary, you might even hear explosions. I've found that whenever I look up at my third eye, I am instantly transported into a place where my body does not exist... I put a lot of emphasis on the actual physical action of LOOKING UP with your eyes closed. It acts as a key! Today, I was in my veins... I could hear blood gushing all around me and it was louder than any Pacific wave I've ever heard.I saw red blood cells flying by. It was so intense I tried to scream but I could not... I was only thought, vision, hearing..... Another cell. (Imagine going from sleepy monkey on a sunny bed to a red blood cell in a gushing vein....WOW) Ever since I fasted, I've been able to have great control over these extremely intense visions, and this very unstable state of consciousness... For me, entering this state is as easy as looking up.Staying there is the tricky part. I watched myself get up and out of my body today. It was so unreal... Let me also state that I was completely sober, just taking a nap in the sun with my window open so I could hear the birds and taste the Gulf. *** So there you have it. I told you what it is, how to do it, and what happens when you do. It's different every time, and it's instantly loud and happens VERY fast. You will KNOW when you've entered sleep paralysis.... It's this insane vortex. It isn't hard. You just have to try. You probably aren't going to be able to do it the first time. Maybe you will. I don't know. Try it. It's amazing. I leave this open to whoever wants to try......Anyone with any luck, or prior experience with sleep paralysis...please share... Quote
Guest chendoh Posted April 29, 2007 Report Posted April 29, 2007 Staying there is the tricky part. So its pretty easy to reawake? Have you ever heard of anyone getting 'locked in' ? What would one have to do to regain consiousness in a case like that? Quote
Queso Posted April 29, 2007 Author Report Posted April 29, 2007 Cope, I suppose. I was once locked when I was a kid when I was awaking from a normal slumber... Twas intense. Quote
Queso Posted April 30, 2007 Author Report Posted April 30, 2007 Why does no one want to try? The algorithm is simple. Quote
