Drip Curl Magic Posted May 2, 2007 Report Posted May 2, 2007 I'm looking to fix a piece of glass, I'm wondering if there is any sort of glueor adhesive that is especially good at holding together two pieces of glass, while being able to withstand high temperatures. A friend of mine suggested epoxy... but I'm wondering if there is anything better fitting for the situation. Does anyone know of anything? Quote
freeztar Posted May 2, 2007 Report Posted May 2, 2007 I would say epoxy as well of the top of my head. A quick search yielded this (among many others):Dries Clear Glass Adhesive - Super Glue Adhesive Products I've never used it, but it seems like it would do the trick.Having it dry clear seems to be the big determining factor in selecting a glue for glass. Hamlet Posted May 4, 2007 Report Posted May 4, 2007 I dont know if epoxy will work for glass.. But I can assure it do support high temperatures. I still remember an old cooking pot fixed with epoxy in the bottom of it, right where the fire hits... After 20 years it was still good Quote
InfiniteNow Posted May 4, 2007 Report Posted May 4, 2007 You don't want to inhale expoxy, mate. Buy a new stem. Quote

Hamlet Posted May 4, 2007 Report Posted May 4, 2007 You don't want to inhale expoxy, mate. Buy a new stem. lol... actually it was not for cooking food! :naughty: It was for melting something.. dont remember what, it was several years ago Quote
GAHD Posted May 4, 2007 Report Posted May 4, 2007 if you want a good bond with the same thermal properties of the sheets of glass;: get a torch and weld the glass. Welding is the best bond you'll find. Quote
