TheBigDog Posted May 28, 2007 Report Posted May 28, 2007 This scavenger hunt is a different theme from the first one. Instead of searching Hypography for items, you will be searching the real world, and then posting what you find here in the form of pictures. All pictures must be original. Some of the items may be sitting around your house. Others may be found nearby. Still others you might need to go out and find. And in some cases you might need to do something to get the picture. Find as many as you can. It is OK to post what others have already posted, so if I post a picture of kids playing in the sprinkler, everyone else still needs to post that picture for their own collection. We will have a photo contests among the entries in the Scavenger Hunt. We will vote for nominees and then have a regular poll to vote for winners. Prizes? To be announced. ughaibu Posted May 28, 2007 Report Posted May 28, 2007 Number 47 would require a several thousand mile journey. Quote
Tormod Posted May 28, 2007 Report Posted May 28, 2007 Brilliant idea, Bill! Can I suggest a 72dpi resolution rather than 96 (72 is standard for web/screen). @ughaibu: the rule was "find as many as you can". While my closes (attended) school is only about 10 minutes away, I'll be hard-pressed to find a water-tower (we don't have them!). Any deadlines in mind? I guess we will need some time to find all this stuff! Quote

I am not going to be a hard-*** about it, but the pictures should be of good quality and clearly show the item they represent. You may have multiple items in a single picture, but they should each be clearly represented. *** Bill Quote

Queso Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 If I had a digital camera I would totally go and do this. Florida has a lot of those things. But...considering my only camera is on my laptop...it would be a...an itch to carry around my laptop everywhere trying to capture those things. Looking forward to see who gets the closest tho- Quote
Tormod Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 I would like to, but neither conveyence allows attachments for me. I promise to fix this for everyone so that the competition will work as intended. I need a little bit of time because I'm really busy atm but I have a working solution waiting to be implemented. :cheer: Quote
Guest chendoh Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 I am,waiting to be implemented. :cheer::eek: I did email TBD, and when I receieve a reply, that would fix that end. The other way I thought was, uploading to the gallery, and TBD could get them there. But I'm not sure if he's allowed access to other's, pic files. T, Your solution is infinitely better.:) Quote

Mercedes Benzene Posted May 31, 2007 Report Posted May 31, 2007 I made the scavenger hunt threads sticky. :) freeztar 1 Quote
freeztar Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 It is OK to post what others have already posted, so if I post a picture of kids playing in the sprinkler, everyone else still needs to post that picture for their own collection. Can you elaborate on this, Bill?If someone posts a picture of kids playing in a sprinkler, then do I get to use that same exact pic for my own collection? Or must I produce originals for each theme (ie take my own sprinkler/kid photo)? If the latter (which is my assumption), then I'll have to pass on the children themes because I don't have kids nor do my friends yet. Actually, one friend of mine has a one year old, but I think it would be out of line to ask for a mud covered baby photo. It's a great challenge either way and I look forward to contributing where I can. :) I've got my eye on the magnet! :eek2: I'm more of a shirt guy though. Magnets tend to give me hives. TheBigDog 1 Quote
