That seems like a load of bull to me.

I HIGHLY doubt that there would be enough people who would actually want to leave the United States. As for the people who do think they can get Vermont to leave the US, they're just ignorant. They obviously don't know what they're doing.

They wouldn't likely have the resources to survive. We'd just have a third-world country on our doorstep.

These folks will be seen as in an intellectual light, because of their political predominance. Socialists want to separate from the US to teach us how to do things right. How noble. Vermont is 0.2% of the US population. If Vermont were a city it would be 20th in population in the US. If there are 6863 people who sign on to this then it will represent the largest minority population in the state. 1.1% Latin/Hispanic, 1% Asian, 0.6% black, 0.4% native, 96.9% white.

 

Much ado about nothing, but a telling commentary in the way it is being characterized.

Dakota with us, cuz then we would be like the 3rd or 5th largest nuke power and it would give us leverage for negotations for better trade deals.

Well, as a native Georgian, I can say for fact that secession does not work. At least, it didn't for the old Georgians. :)
