Hello all,

Having recently become much enamored with composting and soil improvement as part of learning to garden, I've stumbled across a lot of exciting, new (to me) ideas and notions that I would like to learn more about: Terra Preta de Indio, biodynamic preparations, bio-char, and the like. I don't have any particular goal in mind, or even a specific course of inquiry. Much like the aforementioned compost, I hope to pile on a good mix of topics and see what the resulting fermentation will bring about.

Other points of interest: I live in Port Townsend, WA, USA. I'm a soon-to-be psychologist. I'm trying to learn to grow decent vegetables but often find myself distracted by the soil preparation parts of gardening rather than the actual growing of plants. I'm a bit of a nerd and greatly enjoy learning new theories, ideas, etc.
