My real name is Vernon Brown; I'm an old fart now, in my 70's but still have interests in flying, buying and selling land, and field theories in physics. I know particle theory ( QM ) pretty well at an engineering level but have abandoned it as a final solution to the way nature works. (Although it is profoundly usefull)

This looks like an interesting place; so far I like what I see.

DryLab is a term used by engineers to describe a process by which you write a technical report describing the results of an experiment -- but didn't actually do the experiment. It is appropriate for me because I have many untested ideas, and have written about them :)

Is that the generally used meaning ? I remember we used "dry lab" for the section where the finished products were tested, while the "wet lab" was the section where possible improvements on the process were tested on a small scale.

Maybe I should have limited it to my own experience  That was the common meaning in the labs where I worked in my youth.

My experience was with AT&T at what we called a Proving Lab. We tested each new product against the engineer's published claims. Our own product was a report back to the engineering group that submitted the product. So to "DryLab" the report was not a good thing:)
