John.M.Gough Posted June 17, 2007 Report Posted June 17, 2007 Im quite unsertain what the diference is, as far as i can make out a mole is the amount of carbon 12 atoms in 12g of corbon 12, and an amu is 1/12 the weight of a carbon 12. am i right?. And could i use pen and paper to work out how many Rf atoms there are in 12g of Rf. sory if i confused you, i dont understand it. Quote
Mercedes Benzene Posted June 17, 2007 Report Posted June 17, 2007 You're right. A mole is defined as 6.02x10^23 atoms (or anything for that matter). AMU, as you said, is 1/12 the weight of a Carbon-12 atom.I'm not sure what you mean by atomic charge however. I've never heard that term used before in reference to measurements of quantity or mass.
