M.A.Padmanabha Rao Posted January 14, 2005 Report Posted January 14, 2005 The first experimental evidence on UV dominant optical spectrum fromradioisotopes as radiochemicals can be seen from the website http://www.geocities.com/raomap/discovery2.html UV, VIS and NIR intensities could be measured from each and every isotope tested using a open photomultiplier tube (9635QB, THORN EMI) as a sensor and a pair of sheet polarizers. Interestingly, the observed optical radiation is second generation of beta, gamma and X-ray emissions from radioisotopes. The recent subatomic research provides first experimental evidence on fluorescent / atomic emission caused by beta, gamma or X-ray from within excited atoms of radioisotopes.
