Turtle Posted June 22, 2007 Report Posted June 22, 2007 i watched 2 hours of the series tonight and i agree with the very nicey 'great cinematography' sentiment. the science part however is a vexing mixture of old theory, new theory, and flat out wrong information. on the old theory >> when talking about limestone caves they laid all the formation to acid rainwater, wheras recent studies show that acid excreting bacteria do a considerable amount of the 'excavating'. on the new theory (or at least i never heard this) >> that the monoliths used in the construction of stonehenge came as eratics transported by glaciers and not hauled from wales by people. on the flat out wrong >> in the discussion of coreolis and winds at the equator, the graphic illustrating earth's rotation was rotating clockwise. :applause: i give it about a 73* :cocktail: *jamie brockett- Talkin' Green Beret New Super Yellow Hydraulic Banana Teeny Bopper Blues Quote
